Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I've mentioned this site on a few other threads and was surprised that so many had not heard of it. It is a great place to get free stuff (incl camping stuff for Roo) not to mention diverting things out of the waste stream so I thought I'd start a thread.
Freecycle is local to each area and how it works is that you sign up and get an email (or like me decline the email and just go to the yahoogroup). The email list things that people in your area no longer need and are giving away. No selling or trading is allowed, you just give things you no longer need away instead of throwing them in the trash.
I have gotten a camper shell for my truck, my Roo hammock, some camping supplies, a dog house and too many other things to mention. I've also given away stuff like a motorcycle tire, a computer printer, etc.
Sign up. Who knows, you may get some Roo supplies like I have.
Mods: If this needs to go in the Other thread, feel free to move it.
Sometimes but 99% of the time they disclose if it is not working or if condition is unknown. It does them little good to have you show up and not want it or for you to throw it away anyway.
Some people post obvious junk to give away, which waste listing space, but that is probably inevitable. Some areas also have a lot of people asking for stuff which can get annoying. Each area is different so check your area out and see if it works for you. Our area is really good about not listing spam and junk.
I've used Freecycle too. One thing I might suggest is to pick a neutral location to meet up. There have been incidents of people casing a house when picking up things (that's the reason my Dad would never have a yard sale...) Just a thought, most (if not all) the people I've encountered through the program have been very nice and appreciative. It's a very cool idea.
