My first time to the 'roo here.. was thinking about the whole campsite occupancy thing. It seems to me that if you have a large group of people and a small number of cars... say 10 people in 2 cars.. and someone is over 25.. has anyone thought to rent a car in Manchester / Knoxville and drive it in? It would be super cheap, local only rental and hardly any gas would be required. I don't know, just seems like a really cheap way to get an extra camping space... comments? :]
Yeah, I'm not really sure about the costs.. but I was thinking it might work for a larger group. Say if you had 10 or so people, the cost of a rental (again, local only, no mileage charge really) split so many ways would be nominal compared to the benefit of having an extra spot for a tent / shelter.
Rentals can be expensive.. but if you think there wont be enough room, then i'd say do it. But trust me, there should be plenty of campsite room.
Not necessarily - we had 3 cars, 8 people and barely had enough room - we managed to cram 3 small tents - one large tent and 2 easy ups into the space but it was pretty cramped - and the only reason we managed that was because while they were still parking cars at the end of our row - we back up about 5 feet from where they told us to park

This is true, and it can be the case sometimes. I just happened to luck out my times, I guess.. because we always had plenty of room. It all depends on how much your neighbors need space for too.. It's luck of the draw.
^^^the first year - we were really lucky and had hoped to be lucky last year - our biggest prob was that the row in front of us (that was parked first) had a huge 10-15 person tent that they set up with no regard to anyone else needing space

You should have just said "Wow, awesome tent, that's so thoughtful of you to bring one with room for us too!" ;D
