Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
EDIT: This is now the thread for fort building! ;D I would like to see if a group of people would be interested in designing / building a fort or two with hard sides (plywood? or something comparable) to be played in and perhaps have a water gun and balloon war during the mornings. Give me ideas and anything you may have. Its my first roo, so I don't know much about the logistics. I do, however, LOVE to build cool stuff
----------------------
Just wondering if anyone builds sweet forts to hang out in? Like the kind of creepy yet cool shelters you see at Burning Man.. or is it just too damn hot for them? Personally I think it would be fun to have one.. chuck water ballons at everyone and suc.. but I'm probably just drunk

Too much time is spent listening to music to worry about forts. burning Man is definitely completely different from Bonnaroo. THat being said, if my neighbors build a chill fort, I would definitely hang out there.

I think any chill forts (I like that term) would be more concerned with providing shade from the hot sun and letting weary rooers catch a few more minutes of shuteye in the morning. I like the idea of water balloons, though!
I remember on the walk from Staff to Centeroo we would pass some really really crazy forts people had built using tarps. Awesome idea, I would love to be able to do that this year

I used to build sweet forts all the tiem but then I ditched the bunk bed and got a regular bed the number of sweet forts greatly decreased. I would love to have one of the sweet types of forts and throw water balloons..itd be fun.
Maybe I should change this thread to "Who wants to build a community fort"
;D
I don't know about space constraints, but would it be possible to build a fort somewhere for us all to play in? Say, something that 4 or 5 people could be inside of at once and have hard (plywood?) walls.. just to hang out in, have water gun / nerf fights.. just a thought, might be fun.. I love building stuff and it would be a fun way to involve the lurking Inforoosters !

I feel like any structure you could conceivably build becomes about ten times cooler if you call it a fort. "Hey man, check out the tarp I rigged up over my tent" = been there, done that. "Hey man, check out my FORT" = CRAZY AWESOME.
As far as the ones in the picture I posted, there are no tools needed to put them together.
Basically its wood framing with cardboard panels and waterproof paint. 12'7" diameter and 6'3" high in the center. Originally built for Burning Man, found a how to on this site:
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

I would build it at home and then pack it in a sturdy rubbermaid and drag it along. Then again, I don't know how many times you could put the thing up before the "brackets" would wear out..

you need to get one of those emergency inflatable rafts...and convert that to a fort, then you can bring it in small and compact..then pull the cord, and BAM....i call it insta-fort

OKAY, GOOD STORY HERE:
While I was in between room mates I turned the second bedroom of my old apartment into one big fort complete with stereo, lights, matress, pillows, blankets, nightstands, pictures. It was so awesome that I held a fort party on April 20th and made a fort in every room in my house and included a dance tent, cinema fort (where we played the documentary GRASS all night). Some people brought tents, we pitched them in and outside the apartment, everyone brought sleeping bags, flash lights, and snacks. It was kinda like a little mini bonnaroo. Tons of fun just acting like little kids...while nomming on the corn, of course!!!!

And if you live in the Fort, that would complete the ensemble.
