Even though tent only has great advantages, I love being right next to my car just.. because lol.
Locking stuff up in it, putting stuff in and out, it was just nice. I'm sure I would be complaining though if I got a spot in BFE, but from my friends who have camped out there, they said it's just an adventure getting there and back! So no true worries for me.. it's all good when your at bonnaroo!

see yeah, for me thats a pro about parking next to my car. with the amount of water we're going to bring, i wanted to just keep the extra gallon jugs in there. along with my blanket/sleeping bag or whatever im using, stick that in the car during the day. the bug thread has me creeped out about spiders, i cry/hyperventilate when i see them, so... egh. lol, i'm TORN

well, if you're with a group, just do what's good for the group lol.
But, I'm just really lazy, and I'm probably going to have a lot of stuff, and I won't feel like making the trips back and forth to T.O. and the parking lot in the heat of the day.
But, extra storage is a great point too that you mentioned. And last year when it was ridic. hot, we jumped in the car for a few minutes, turbo'd the a.c., and charged our phones for a few minutes.. it was really nice.

i'm having the same dilemma
doesn't it suck? ugh...i hate having to make choices sometimes...
I would recommend not making a final decision until you get there. Maybe decide ahead to do tent only if you need to, but last year tent only was smaller and farther from Centeroo than the year before and I wound up getting parked about the same distance away. Of course, if you go in Wed. night your chances of BFE go way up.

I will be at Wal-mart this year!! I didn't hear anyone yelling corncat around the camsite, but i did respond to some Marco! POLO! the first night and then all of a sudden there were like 20 people at my campsite and i didn't know half of them, it was very fun!!
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I should be in RV unless we plan on ditching the whole RV thing.
access is handicap access - it is closer in - like tent only. I have had two ankle surgeries in the last 5 years and arthritis in both hips - it hurts if I have to walk long distances. I actually came home with a stress fracture last year from walking.

yeah that's what i think we'll wind up doing. i already know what i'm going to say to my group. we've got two options, A. go in weds night/ early thursday, end up in BFE, and head to tent only... B. Go in Thursday and try to get in line around 9am to get a better chance at a good spot... and if we get a bad spot, head to tent only.
i get really confused about the best time to actually get in line though.

haha cool. i talked to my boyfriend about it and i think i confused him, so i'm waiting until i head to ny next week to actually explain. i plan on printing out the bonnaroo map so i can explain it better.
we should all caravan in, then see where we're parked, and have a party either way ahaha

Yeah, there will be a lot of discussion as we get closer, which may help. I think I got there around 2 pm Thurs last year, coming from Walmart and can't imagine a shorter wait to get in and got a pretty good spot. But there seems to always be some luck involved.

Got there at 2pm as in got to the actual parking right?
i think a main issue of my group will be that bands start at 12pm, and they won't want to miss that. but i think if we get stuck out in bfe, then set up, then walk to Centeroo, we'll wind up missing a few things anyway.
btw, can i ask you, what time did you hop into the actual line?

thats what i figured. so i guess when i show them my 'presentation' ill also have to show them what we know of the lineup, so they know we're not missing anything huge.
yes I remember nothing was happening till later in the night on Thursday. We were too anxious last year and jumped in line right as everyone was waking up. WE WERE WAY WAY out there right next to the trees. The nice part was that we had shade till about 9 so we could sleep a bit more. Man, I am just way too anxious to get there.
Meg, take care of those legs...NO stress fractures this year...do it!!

Man...I was just looking at the map and I realized we were so dang far it didn't even have a cool name it was just "Camp Q" We were in line for only about 45-1hr and we thought we were getting the nice close spots when they just kept turning us and leading us to the BACK!!!

Lewis Black started at 6:30 pm Thurs. The first music was Ryan Shaw at 7:15, The Little Ones at 7:30, The Black Angels at 8:30. Other than that, the only thing going on before 6:30 was The Buskers and some dancers at the Solar Stage, which started at noon.
^^^see - that is the information that needs to be handed out - I would hate for people to think they were gonna miss music when nothing starts til later

yeah really. we'd get there, wind up in BFE, set up and then wander around. not that it's necessarily be bad, i'm sure we'd find a ton of cool people. just that i'd rather get there not too early and get a better spot, then set up and be there in time for the music.
The whole spot thing is iffy. By the time we got there which was right around 9:30-10 the entire first part of Camp no names had been filled up pushing us all the way to the back.. I hope this does not happen with RV

I have a question, Im going to be arriving Wed. night on greyhound bus. Is the Wal Mart a far walk from the Manchester bus station? I figure I could hang out at Wal Mart until Thur. morning but dont know if I would have to walk out of my way to get to Wal Mart and then walk to Roo in the morning.

pm wooz and ask him - he came in greyhound last year. he also has a map of Manchester that has the greyhouse station, walmart and other places marked on it.
i am sure that if you arrive at the greyhound, you can hook up with someone else that is going to roo. WalMart is not far at all, and you could probably find a ride, no problem, hell...we may even have some room
