Here's tha hammock I use. It is bulky but very comfy (and I got it free.) It comes in 3 pieces that snap together. Great it you just want to set it up next to the vehicle. Heavy to move. Costs $125-$200.
There is a folding hammock at target for $60. Looks pretty good.
There are also camping hammocks that fold up and our pretty light so you can carry them. Good if you want to take one to Tent Only. They cost $50-$120.
There's one like mine on ebay right now for about $65 incl s/h. Looks like a good deal. Search "hammock stand"

I laid mine on the ground, couldnt have asked for a stiffer back the next morning. If your lucky you will get a spot by some trees and you can use those, if not the stands would be best.

I was looking at a fairly inexpensive stand at Academy (round $60 for the stand). But of course, you need a hammock too, so add another $50+ to that. Although hammocks ARE really cool. I might just go ahead and get it now that I rationalize it to myself like that.
Go to ebay and search "hammock stand" There is the one I mentioned above. The auction ends in 18 hours and the current bid is $30 (plus $35 s/h). Looks like a good deal. Includes stand and hammock.

Does anyone know how well those fold up hammocks work? I've been thinking about getting one.
Hmm...I think it depends on the sturdiness of the hammock and the size of the person.
I'm an average-sized female, 5'4" and I tried one last summer...my butt was almost touching the ground. So, if you're bigger than me, it might not work very well.
Eagles nest outfitters makes a great lightweight portable hammock, but you have to have two sturdy objects to fasten each end to. They sold them last year in Centeroo. www.eaglesnestoutfittersinc.com/

if it worked for you then it will probably work for me, I'm about an inch shorter than you.

Some people next to me last year just drove some fence posts into the ground and tied to them. Posts cost about $4 and you'll needa sledge hammer or post driver.
I bring about a dozen posts and a driver every year to help out neighbors. If you're close eneough, come borrow them.

thats good to know, right now I am looking at one that is sold at LL Bean (~$120). I checked it out today and it was comfortable and sturdy so I might just get it since it since everyone says you get what you pay for.
