???my friend i am going with had a friend that went a few years back and his car got stuck and i guess it was a nightmare, so he now wants to fly or something and rent a truck?!!! I have a sebring, so no 4 wheel drive, but i feel like i have read a million posts and have heard nothing about stuck cars... Maybe a little feedback to calm my friend and save me a few bucks on renting a truck!!!
Yes, '04 was the year of the "monsoon" and LOTS of people got stuck. It's not normally a problem. I've been to all but '06 and that's the only time it happened to anyone signifcant extent. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yea, it can get bad but you will be alright Holly. Their are alot of nice poeple that will pull you out or give you a push. If you go to Roo come with no worries cause you will get help when you need it. Oh and dont ask the police for help cause they wont.

I've also read that now that the property is no longer owned by the farmer, that they have been making improvements to the site regarding drainage.
If it is very wet, there still could be problems, Let's just hope that it is not like that - lots of rain weeks before to make everything healthy, then beautiful, low humidity, high's just over 80 and a constant breeze from the west.
Wait, I'm talking about south central Tenn. in the middle of June - Probably the closest thing to living in hell that I'm get to experience, and still be alive.
I can stand heat - as long as it is a DRY HEAT. Been hiking in Moab when it was 120 or so, but then, the sweat dried off quickly!
^^ You're right about dry vs. humid heat. My wife is from NM and 100-110 degrees there is nothing compared to 90-95 in TN.
IMHO, I think we're due for a real scorcher. '02 and '03 were very hot and humid. Couldn't hardly sleep at night it was so hot and stuffy. Since then we've had a running drought and just regular TN heat (and I thought '07 wasn't too bad by our standards.) I think we're due for another bad one.
Praying for one of those rare but not unheard of non-humid 85-90 degree couple of days we get once a decade or so. The bad part is that a cool stretch is usually brought on by a cold front meaning a pretty good rain Wed or Thur of Roo and then a couple nice days. That brings a possible mud problem. I'd gladly suffer some mud for a few cool days.

How has the drought been lately? Have you been getting normal amounts of rainfall this winter? I've seen some charts, but they were about a year or so out of date.
We're getting a good amount of rain, a lot better than the last 5 years. The plants are doing okay but the groundwater table needs lots of rain over a long period of time to recoup its losses.
As far as Roo goes, the month prior to Roo will decide whether the grass is healthy and the soil is wet enough to maintain a "normal" humidity. I'll take a dryer Roo but not so dry as to have the dust of last year (cough, cough)

Other than the dust, which i didn't really notice till sunday, i thought the weather wasn't that bad last year, but the weather doesn't really get to me ever. As for getting stuck, if its so muddy that your car gets stuck like in 04', 4 wheel drive isn't going to help much anyways.
Almost got stuck in the mud pit mess of '04, but had some kind folks around to give us a push. I wouldn't worry about it. '04 was the only year it was an issue at all and there will be plenty of people around willing to help you out if you need it.

In 2004 it did not rain all weekend, no rain on Thursday and Friday, I think around 4 or 5 on Saturday it POURED for about an hour and a half, then on and off rain for a few more hours. on Sunday around the same time another terrible storm came through and it rained for a couple hours. So it was a mess on Monday morning everybodys car had mud on it.

2004 was such a fuc*ing mess, but we managed to get through. For those who are still concerned, folks come out in droves to help one another when things get really bad. ESPECIALLY if getting your vehicle moved means allowing them to keep on rollling through!
