Last year, we had our friends join us for a bit in the afternoon. We showed the guys our badges and said that our buddies were just going to come hang out for a little while. Nobody had a problem with it. Make friends with the attendants and you'll be fine. Just make sure that you are escorting your friends in.
Normal VIPers have wrist bands like GA, only a different color. We are not issued badges (we don't need no stinking badges). It's possible that you were given an exception based on that.
I pay for VIP, I expect everyone else in VIP has done the same. You wanna hang with your friends, do it in Centeroo or GA.
I had better not see security letting in non-VIPers. Jack Johnson would disapprove.
You got that right! We pay good money for our little hide away from the other 77,500 people there.
Well it is not like I am rich and this is my summer vacation budget, and I will be irritated if non VIPs are in there. Not as irritated as if someone peed in my tent then punched me in the face but irritated all the same.
I did see a few get turned away after the Police show last year. They waited till the crowd going back into VIP was bigger and tried to glide in with them. It didn't work, they got turned back and then played dumb. It's easier to keep them out if the Bonnaroo people keep the arms bands at more of a contrast to each other. GA should be blaze orange. Or better yet, The letters VIP should glow in the dark under black light. Sweet! ;D
My friends are flying and we are driving into VIP, can we "save" the spot next to us for them to set up? I know they will be getting a parking pass, but we will be getting there at different times.
Do you by chance get the parking pass mailed to you with your tickets? This way we can have two, one for us and their pass, and one of us can use it to hold the spot. Any ideas?

That would be smart as I had this one local guy stroll up to my camp with a VIP bracelet that he made. I guess he saw waht they were going to be like and then went home to make one. I think it was just a bracelet he colored and wrote Bonnaroo on.
sprukn - it's probably not going to work. Best thing to do is wait for them at the Holiday Inn Express and go in together.
Right. You won't be able to save a spot. The best you could hope for, if you arrive at different times, is to convince someone next to the late arrival to switch out with your early acquired spot. If it doesn't end up being a huge hassle. The key would be to catch that person before they start setting up, and to know exactly where their replacement spot is located. But the easiest thing, by far, will be to just have the early arrivals wait at the Holiday Inn for you.
Another note: don't try picking up your late arrivals' parking sticker/wrist bands for them. They won't allow it. Your friends will have to stay in line when they arrive, just like everyone else.
We are driving and they are flying. I think they can get the wrist band at the airport. We get stuck at Holiday Inn. The problem is that their flight gets them there at around 3pm. We hope to be set up by then!
Space seems big enough for two tents and a few canopies. I'm not going to sweat it anymore! If the spots are 20x50 we should be OK in one. Four people total.

Ah. I think you are correct on the "pick up your bracelet at the airport" thing. That will speed things up considerably.
You may still want to use both sites. If one is closer to something you want to be near (nearer the stage and catering tent during the day and nearer the showers and bathrooms at night, for example) you might want to set up different sites with different purposes. Just a thought.

That dude had cut up a Solo cup that was the same color as the VIP bracelets and put it over his. Security should have totally seen that, imo.
Was he with the rock star bus that had the hippie crack?
