Ok, I have searched for a answer and I am sure it is here and I just have over looked it. If you are going VIP I saw where we will get a 20 X 50 spot. Is that correct? Do we park our cars in our spot or do we park somewhere else and haul our stuff to the location? 20 x 50 seams to be a rather large area.. If you have your tent up and a canopy over that that leaves a huge area for other stuff... I am wondering how may canopies I will need. I am looking for a 12 x 12 canopy right now, should I get at least 2 if your car does not go in the extra space... Sorry i am sure this is posted somewhere I can not find it. Thanks!

im sure it is posted somewhere.
i think you get a 20 x 20 - but i could be wrong. it's not cramped.
your car is expected to fit into this spot along with your gear.
The spot is 20X50 and you keep all your stuff there, car, camper, or tent and so on. The spot is big, I have an H2 and a pop up and there is plenty of room to spare. Enjoy!
Thanks. I am just concerned since we will probably have to go pick up my son from my Mom on Sunday and come back. My brother has 2 VIP tickets and we have 2, I am just trying to think if we needed to make other arrangements Sunday. I wanted to make sure one of our cars would be able to get out Sunday just in case we needed to get him before Monday... I think my brother is flying in and will be there before us on Thursday and will come from Nashville, we will come from AL. So I hope we will be able to camp next to each other as well.
The neighbors next to us came and went as they pleased. They made runs to Walmart everyday. You should be able to set up so someone can get out. Just keep your car closest to the lanes between the rows of campsites. Also, keep your group together when entering the campground so you can camp next to each other. VIP is not packed in like GA is. We have lots of room to breathe. Have a great time and look for the German and Scottish flags. All are welcome to come have a beer with Biglou (John) and Erica. ;D
OK...I have a very important question. Myself and three friends will be attending the festival year, and we were planning on staying in the same area. However, two of us have VIP tickets, and two don't. Can we all stay in the VIP area? If not, will they be allowed in to chill with us? How tight is security when it comes to checking VIP access privileges? Can we bring non-VIP new-just-met friends back to our area? I'm really concerned because it would really suck and put a damper on our experience if we were seperated. Thanks guys.
Also, is there a special VIP RV pass that we need? Any and all help is appreciated.

If you don't have a VIP wrist band you don't get into VIP area. They watch this very closely too. You will have to go into GA and visit them. There is a wall all the way around VIP to close it off from the rest of the festival. You also need a VIP RV upgrade to bring an RV into VIP camping area. Sorry about putting a damper on your trip, but better to know now then have a problem later. See you in VIP!

No.

No.
How tight is security when it comes to checking VIP access privileges?
Pretty tight.
Can we bring non-VIP new-just-met friends back to our area?
No.

You could always camp GA and use your VIP perks during the day (free food, cheap drinks, etc.). The main draw of VIP for me, though, is proximity to Centeroo.
Also, is there a special VIP RV pass that we need?
If you're bringing an RV, yes. You should've added it when you bought your tickets.

You're right, I should drive a class A motor coach there at 8 miles to the gallon and three times the pollution. ??? H2's get no worst gas mileage than any other SUV of that size. They are built off the GM Tahoe frame, use a 6.0 liter vortex engine, which is standard in all GM HD pick-ups. I also own a Chevy aveo, that gets 34 miles a gallon but won't tow my pop up to Roo. Why don't you go and ask one of those dudes what their VW bus does for the environment. No pollution control on those things at all. With all that I've said, it makes me wonder why you don't like my H2?

woah, whats the resolution on that?
wait, what?
as far as those A class motor homes - goddamn, do they look nice to sleep in. i took a peek at these guys who rented on last year - it had like, a full bar, a massive sleeping area that popped out, all chrome and polished wood - it was astounding. but the concept of driving that from ma to tn frightens my bank account in ways i cant describe.
I did not smite you and hate to drag this to much more off topic, but according to wikipedia an H2 gets high single digit to low double digit mileage. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hummer_H2#Fuel_economy
Back to topic stuff I feel that 20x20 is not that big I just measured my office 19x15 and I would hate to be in here with a car sunshade and tent.

"Dealers say Hummers average 8 to 10 mpg, while General Motors, which markets and distributes the latest version of the vehicle, the Hummer H2, puts the figure at 10-13 mpg. By comparison, the Ford Expedition gets 14-19 mpg, and the three-quarter ton Chevy Suburban gets 13-17 mpg. "
So basically - not much worse the your typical SUV AND his other car is a very mileage friendly car - kinda evens out int he long run, really - he could have two average mileage vehicles - but instead he has one very economical fuel friendly vehicle and one vehicle that he wants and needs, expecially int he winter time where he lives.
I know that you were not trying to get this off topic - but to make a comment as you did without understanding the hows, wheres and whys of him owning an H2 was kinda petty. It always helps to ask questions first and hurl accusations later.

I did not accuse or hurl anything, or even make a negative comment. I simply posted the relevant information and a source for it. I am sorry I offended you on his behalf.

you are correct - I should not have said "hurl accusations" sorry for that one - and you did not necessarily offend me - I'll leave it at that, k? peace?
And about VIP camping.....I know nothing toher then what I have heard and peeked at through the green slats of the privacy fence - it looks like there is lots of space there and I hope they formulate a plant his year to seperate the RV section from the tent senction (if the VIPers want it that way)
You talked about your office size. I do recall my tent spot (I ended up in the one tent only area of VIP) being rectangle shape so I think it was more like 30' long by 20' wide, and just by walking by I think the RV spots were even larger and some people got to tent camp on those so they had tons of room. You also don't have to make sure your car is totally in the lines, or at least I didn't park it that way, I was about half on half off.
And just a little bit about MPG. Cars are tested while they are standing still with the wheels on rollers, so the test doesn't take into account any other variables like the aerodynamics, or anything else for that matter when coming up with the number. Car manufactures know this and use it to their advantage. It's really rediculous the way they come up with the figure, it's been the same test for over 30 years. Think how much cars have changed in that time. They are changing it but not soon enough www.epa.gov/fueleconomy/420f06009.htm
Closest VIP thread I could find, so I'm gonna shoot...
A fellow Rooer of mine was arguing that GA people could, in fact, go into a VIP person's site.... I couldn't believe it, but is this true??? because I go in large groups... and the people I want to be around willl (most likely) be in GA, I want to know if this holds any merit?
To clarify: Can someone from GA go into VIP camping with someone, say, to go eat at their trailer/bum out there?>
I have read on another board they will take your bracelet and send you on your merry way if they catch you in VIP and you are not supposed to be there.
Last year, we had our friends join us for a bit in the afternoon. We showed the guys our badges and said that our buddies were just going to come hang out for a little while. Nobody had a problem with it. Make friends with the attendants and you'll be fine. Just make sure that you are escorting your friends in.

Normal VIPers have wrist bands like GA, only a different color. We are not issued badges (we don't need no stinking badges). It's possible that you were given an exception based on that.
I pay for VIP, I expect everyone else in VIP has done the same. You wanna hang with your friends, do it in Centeroo or GA.
I had better not see security letting in non-VIPers. Jack Johnson would disapprove.

see - I don't go VIP and I completely understand your thinking - if I had paid for VIP and then they let a bunch of other people i that had not paid for the perks - I would be pissed
