i am definitely convinced now after the third year that whoever puts the schedule together HATES string cheese, or has never heard them live....these guys rip up the stage like no other and a great late night band but get screwed with crappy ass 6pm slots...anyone else agree with me????????
The first year...When SCI wasn't playing as themselves, they were often found on stage with other people. Since Dave Mathews is "and Friends", I'm thinking that we'll see alot of people with him, possibly including SCI.

"Dave Matthews and Friends" is the name of the band...it doesn't just refer to Dave and whoever. They have a set lineup.
That being said, I do believe they will have several special guests with them (Dirty Dozen Brass Band is a given), but I don't know about SCI. They don't really have any history together, do they? I'd be more hopeful for some one like Luther from No. Miss, any of the guys from My Morning Jacket, Bela Fleck, etc.

i am gonna have to give MAD PROPS to my fellow SCI fans for sticking up for me....i was sure i was a minority SCI fan...i def think they should take that TBA slot but yo know with these people in charg they will stick another gay ass band from the south....go LALLAPOLOOOOOOOOOOOOZA
I'm aware that Dave Mathews and Friends usually refers to a (somewhat) set line up, but I'm pretty sure that in this scenario, the "and Friends" will be taken to a new extreme Also, don't get me wrong...I think it would be great if SCI filled Willie's spot, I was just trying to console those who were upset about not seeing enough SCI by assuring everyone that we will probably see more of them on the other stages.

i would go with bob if this was 10 yrs ago man you cant say anything bad about his music but at his age you know his performance is way down... i rather remember him like the hurricane he was... does anyone think they will tell us about the scheduling changes when u get there if any

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that. I saw him last a couple of years ago, and it was an amazing show. I'll make sure to see a couple of songs, but I don't think that I could last the whole set. Only because there's just too much other music playing to explore.

I've seen String Cheese a couple of times and they are really really fun to see live! Their music it great! I've never seen Bob so I'm kinda torn b/t what I want to do! I would rather see String Cheese but Bob is such a legend and I would hate to say that I had the chance to see him and didn't take advantage of it. I'll probably just just end up catching part of one and then running over to the other.

the friend i'm going with wants to see mr. dylan (show some respect, the man rocks) bad, but no way i'm missing sci. so we'll prolly split. point being: if you see a girl who looks like she's from jersey and feeling kinda lost, come be my friend

you guys are all talking about bob dylan and SCI well what about SCI and Gillian Welch... this girl has got some soul and man would i love to see her, and cheese makes you want to dance harder than you can dance.... but making people choose between the two.... this is why i dont like the way bonnaroo is setup because there are always the bands you love and the bands you are starting to love playing at the same time, and how do you choose between a band you have seen live 5 times and one you really want to see for the first time without feeling like you missed something. because then you hear about the show you werent at and are disappointed because the setlist was awesome until you remember the show you just saw and how amazing it was and stop feeling bad! rainbow...

Cheese is great, i've heard so much about them. The only album i have of theirs tho is "Carnival 99".
Does anybody wanna suggest a few other CDs of theirs that i could pick up, or perhaps which of their live releases is the best.
oh, and what are they're best songs in your opinion? The orignals that i like the best off of Carnival are Mouna Bowa, Barstool, & Jellyfish. They also do some great covers. They do a great job with Birdland and Take Five and Hey Pocky Way. I was browsing the track lists of a few of their live releases too and noticed Jessica, Could You Be Loved, among other greats.
out of the 20 or so On the roads ive ordered id say the 2 best are definatly 7-4-03 and 7-5-03 at the Paolo Soleri in Santa Fe. Sure I was there so im biased but i even think i remember reading that the archive guy for cheese voted 7-4 the best show of 03, amazing energy both nights that im not sure ill ever see again
