what do you guys think? this is gonna be a tough one for me. saw galactic for the first time last year and it blew me away. I have never heard or seen Jazz Mandolin but I'm bettin on a sweet show there too and up until the schedule came out, i was set on seeing them. so what do u think? Jazz Mandolin Project or Galactic ???
I'm going with JMP for the simple fact that Galactic will probably play some other time during the weekend unnanounced. Last year they played the parade and a long set.
It will be a tough call though.....Stanton..Fishman...Stanton...Fishman...?
I saw Galactic last night with Mike Doughty. I saw JMP with Fishman in January. I definitely thought Galactic was a better show. Houseman wasn't singing for them, they had a woman singer instead. Doughty joined them for a few songs of course, but it was still Stanton that was driving the band. I couldn't stop thinking about what seeing Galactic at Bonnaroo would be like...
JMP was incredible. It wasn't until the end that I realized they had not sung a word the entire night. It was like riding a climax for an hour and a half, but I'm not sure what they would be like at Bonnaroo. I wish Jamie Masefield would play Mandolin with Galactic. Now that would really be something. I kind of get a feeling that Galactic might be a little more fun... but I imagine if I went there I would hear later that Trey played with JMP.
