Can any of you fine folk out there help me? I have been looking through the live bonnaroo sets, contemplating downloading a set or two, and I started thinking of the shows I caught...one that keeps coming back is the NMA review, and particularly the version of Sittin' on top of the World that they did. I remember standing there when they went into it, not knowing what song they were doing, starting to gyrate as the groove got deeper and deeper...and suddenly recognizing the tune. I have tapes of the Grateful Dead and others doing it, I have seen the Other Ones do it, but never like this. It was like the Earth opened up spat out this raucous jam that shook me to the bones! Anyway, I can't find it on their setlist, and I KNOW they played it...can anyone help me...was I dreaming? is it listed under a different name? I won't get the set if this song is not included (I might anyway, it was a great show) any help would be much appreciated.
okay, I found it!!! they deleted "Sittin'" from the Bonnaroo download, but the boys are putting out their first live album this Fall from...guess where... BONNAROO!!!!! really looking forward to this release, thanks to all of you who tried to help p4
I've heard the shorty version, and maybe it was the state of mind, but the one they played at ROO made me bow a little deeper in respect of these young masters.
I just listened to the NMAS set from Bonnaroo after my post to you, and I heard "Sittin'" on it. Then I saw an article that said that they call their version of that song "Station Blues." Station Blues is indeed the last song on disk 1 of the Bonnaroo download.
thanks Bradleyx!!!!! you are the man (woman?) ??? okay, do I wait for the NMA to release their album, or get the download? hmmmm...... decisions decisions
Got my NMA live at Bonnaroo!! it rocks, it rolls, it's everything that I remember....and more...I remember things that I forgot! must have been the roses
