Alot of people waited to see the Mars Volta only hoping to hear what The Secret Machines pulled off on sat. night.
The lights were amazing, the drums light up ;D...very minimal and atmospheric. each player had a small lights at the feet and behind them each was a row of about 4 white lights. Lots of dark and lots of bright bright lights. Tons of fog that looked like huge puffy clouds when it passed the spotlights. Great long psychedelic songs.
stage was very empty by bonaroo standerds as I easily walked up to the sound board and danced along the rail all night. Thanks to jenny for bring super cool.
Saturday Night Midnight The Other Tent The Secret Machines
I would have to say my favorite set was The Perceptionists, Saturday Late Night. I have always wanted to see a straight-up old school hip hop show in one of those late night tents and I got my wish all night Saturday. The energy in that tent was amazing and it looked like De La Soul kept it going all night (I wasn't up close for them).
I could also add in Trey, Ray LaMontagne, The Mars Volta or the Word to my favorite sets list.

I simply could not agree more with The Secret Machines. That concert simply blew me away. I did not know any of their music, but now I am a fan. It was not crowded at all, The Other Tent was maybe 1/2 - 3/4 full of standing people.
Now for the second best show, I have a hard time picking between Iron & Wine and the Bela Fleck Acoustic Trio (Front Row!). Both were incredible.
The Word and The Crowes top my list. Both absolutely blew me away. I was expecting The Word to bring the heat, but The Crowes were a complete surprise...what a huge band!
I would have go with Yonder Mountain String Band or The Duo w/ Mike. Those two shows just absolutely blew me away and left me wanting more. I also thought Keller and the Mars Volta were incredible. There isn't really one stand out show for me this year, last year I can say Umphrey's without even thinking about it. Everything was just so good this year.
For me #1 would definitely be The Allman Brothers. I've seen them a few times and this was by far the best I've seen. Then I would have to say The Word and The Black Crowes. I have to agree it is hard to narrow it down, I saw so much good stuff all weekend starting with Perpetual Groove on Thursday. There cover of Rage Against the Machine's Bulls on Parade kicked my roo of perfectly.
Secret Machines Drive-By Truckers Iron & Wine M. Ward
other great ones:
Joanna Newsom My Morning Jacket Ray LaMontagne YMSB The Heartless Bastards
In all honesty though, I didn't catch a disappointing set all weekend. I guess Mars Volta was a little bit of a let down due to the long delay and an odd state of mind for me, but other than that everything was ace.
