I'm kinda stealing this from another thread, but what is your guys initial must see list? Heres mine:
Radiohead Beck Tom Petty Elvis Costello Death Cab Moe Bright eyes Flecktones Ben FOlds RRFB MMJ MMW Mike Gordon Gomez Blues Traveler Soulive Rusted ROot Seu Jorge
Its gonna be tough this year, because theres already so many bands i want to see.
Radiohead, Beck, and BEN FOLDS!!!!! Those are the only ones I would call must see right now, but there are others I am interested in checking out (Rusted Root, Mike Doughty, maybe Ricky Skaggs and the Neville Brothers)....There are a lot of bands I'm not familiar with, but that's half the fun!
It hadn't even occurred to me that Ben Folds might be there. I might pee my pants!
*Sigh* I shouldn't get so worked up, though. There is still a chance I won't get to go because I'll be in the middle of a bar review course....
tom petty neville brothers damian marley robert randolph dr. john matisyahu bill frissell mike gordon flecktones mmw soulive rusted root seu jorge rebirth brass band wood brothers
Radiohead Beck Elvis! moe Bright Eyes Bela Fleck Buddy Guy Damian Marley Matisyahu MMJ Mike Gordon MMW Atmosphere Amadou & Mariam (based on Artist Info on Roo site) Bill Frisell Seu Jorge Andrew Bird Wood Brothers Toubab Krewe (based on Artist Info on Roo site)
Know by reputation/Eager to learn more about: Death Cab for Cutie Cat Power Son Volt Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Devandra Banhart The Motet
My must see list is short because those are the bands that I trump any of the other bands: Radiohead Beck Petty MMW Cat Power Soulive
Bands that I would really like to see: MMJ Bela Fleck Buddy Guy G. Love Malkmus & Jicks Marley Devendra Banhart Band Bands that I have some interest in but will probably love in four months after listening to their stuff: Clap your hands Dungen Atmosphere Mitisyahu

RADIOHEAD Tom Petty Beck moe. Bright eyes death cab Rusted Root G. Love Ben Folds Matisyahu Medeski Martin & Wood Gomez Blues Traveler Son Volt Clap your hands say yeah Damian Marley
Bright Eyes, Radiohead, & Rusted Root, I've suggested every year as my three bands to add. It never happened, now all three are in the intial, I got to go.
I've seen Matisyahu, Ben Folds, Nickel Creek, Blues Traveller, and Rusted Root all before, and I can safely say that none of them put on a bad show. In fact if you haven't seen them before, then they are a must see. I haven't seen and must go to see G. Love, Death Cab, MMW, Seu Jorge, Toubab Krewe, Mike Doughty (he rocks), and Bela Fleck & Flecktones
1.) Radiohead 2.) MMJ (i know it's there 4th time, but they are my favorite.) 3.) Elvis Costello 4.) Matisyahu 5.) Beck 6.) Petty 7.) Ben Folds (saw him in Nov, great live) 8.) Bright Eyes 9.) Stephen Malkmus (legend) 10.) Phil Lesh 11.) Death Cab 12.) Moe 13.) Devendra 14.) Andrew Bird 15.) Clap you hands

My must sees are Radiohead Beck Rusted Root!!! Tom Petty Robert Randolph Blues Traveller Phil Lesh Moe Bela Fleck Damien Marley MMW MMJ Bright Eyes Death Cab Ben Folds Nickel Creek Donovan Frankenreiter - if you havent heard him he sounds a lot like Jack Johnson, which makes since cuz they are old friends and he is on his label This sounds like an awesome lineup eventhough a lot of the "regulars" wont be there, but I dont care
My must see would probably be the Wood brothers. I haven't heard them but I love what Chris Wood does in MMW. They seem like the kind of act that the Word was last year. A side band that you probably don't get a chance to see too often.

This is the first year I've wanted to see this many bands on the initial lineup (i know it's a bigger list than usual) I can see the conflicts forming already. But in a perfectly scheduled roo this year I would HAVE to see:
Beck Radiohead Death Cab Bela Fleck Buddy Guy Ben Folds Matisyahu MMW Malkmus Soulive Devendra Banhart Seu Jorge Both Neville projects DeVotchKa
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
