this may be a retarded question but im nto a big phil lesh or dead fan (i like the music but just dont listen to it)...does he play mostly dead songs or does he have his own stuff? or is it mixed equally??? i really wanna check him out this year and wanna know what to start listening to...later

Here are Phil's friends for this tour just starting up. I think it might change(I hear it does often) but here it is for what it is worth:

Joan Osborne, keyboardist Rob Barraco, pedal steel guitarist Barry Sless, guitarist/fiddler Larry Campbell and drummer Jeff Sipe.

We are talking about the "One of Us" Joan Osborne. She performed with the Dead at Bonnaroo in '03. She has a beautiful voice and has a lot more artistic depth than just "One of Us". I saw her at the Newport Folk Festival and she was great.
