i think PJ would be great in a late night setting. Eddie would undoubtedly be very drunk and he puts on one of the best "drunk" shows Ive seen. But honestly, i dont care if they play at 3pm on thursday, just make it happen.

I was intruiged by the "six stage" set-up from '04. I didn't go, was it a lot different? I assume the extra "stage" was a tent. I think they need to bring that back to fit all the great acts in! But at the same time it leaves more threat of overlaps.
Les Claypool is playing on the 17th, Oysterhead on the 16th. This is definate from Les' newsletter, and leaves no room for doubt as he's playing St. Louis on Sunday.
Pollstar has Blues Traveler on Saturday. I was hoping for a Sunday afternoon show. I didn't want them to conflict with some acts I have never seen. But I guess I might have to miss some shows, because Blues Traveler live is amazing.

roonut....As for the 4 tent setup: I was there in 04 and all I can say is that the 6 stages made conflicts all that more frequent. even after they tweeked the schedule, there was still a point when Dylan, Yo la Tengo, Gillian Welch, Mike Doughty and Chris Robinson were all on stage at the same time. I don't think I saw a single complete set on Friday. As for the 6th tent, or "THe other Other TEnt" (yeah right), it was crammed back in some trees (I think it was by the Tiki Bar), and really didn't pick up too much sound from the nearby second stage. It was also a bit smaller than the three 'main' tents. I didn't see too much there (I think M. Doughty and Jem was it), and for the late nights it was mostly DJs.

^^ I AM VERY RELIEVED for that bit of news, gnome. That is PERFECT for me - mainly b/c I don't care about seeing Umph or Bisco. NOW if they just put Sasha on Saturday night, I'm set for life.
Les Claypool is playing on the 17th, Oysterhead on the 16th. This is definate from Les' newsletter, and leaves no room for doubt as he's playing St. Louis on Sunday.
Wow, thanks for the info gnome.
I'm confused now. On the list, I moved Oysterhead to Friday with a question mark. Trey's site still says Sat., Phish site and Les e-mail say Friday. I would say this one is up for grabs until we get the official schedule. I also took all of the late night speculation off of the list, and put links to the thread on that topic instead. Most of what I had there was pure speculation, and it was getting crowded and confusing. Only bits of late night info I left up were Umphrey's McBisco late night and Rebirth late night event, since those are the only two clear mentions we have so far.
Well, Pearl Jam announced their 2nd leg today. And there is a big gap in the middle of June which stills leaves open the possibility for Bonnaroo. Also on the Tom Petty website it says more dates with Pearl Jam are to be announced next week. I'm guessing that we get artist additions sometime next week.
Here's the whole message so you can see. This gives me hope of a solo Trey set on Saturday.

OF WHALES AND WOE New Les Claypool Studio Album Out May 30
Bassist, songwriter, and virtuoso Les Claypool will kick off one of the most sustained periods of activity in his career on May 30th with the release of 'Of Whales And Woe' on Prawn Song. Marked by Claypool's wry worldview and the ferocious musical chops of the legendary bassist and his musical co-conspirators, the album is an aggressive tour de force that recalls his best work as one of the pioneers of alternative music.
The album's 12 all-new songs match the irreverent aesthetic that has characterized Claypool's storied career with a gritty, uncompromising drive. The lead track "Back Off Turkey" is menacing and sparse, followed by the dirge march of "Lust Stings" and the propulsive "Rumble Of The Diesel." Other highlights include "Phantom Patriot," with references from Bohemian Grove to "the elite right wing maze," and the album's closer, and instrumental titled simply "Off-white Guilt."
The new album featuring Skerik, Mike Dillon, and Gabby La La will be available for pre sale at Club Bastardo starting May 2nd and will be released on May 30th.
Additionally, Les' website is in the process of getting an overhaul, and the new design will be unveiled soon... stay tuned.

SOUTH OF THE PUMPHOUSE The Debut Novel Out in July
A dark, clever tale of two brothers, a fishing trip, misconceptions, drugs and murder, South of the Pumphouse skillfully combines classic motifs of epic struggle and intelligent layers of imagery, reminiscent of The Old Man and the Sea, and the raw, tweaked perspective and hallucinogenic tutorial of a Hunter Thompson novel.
But like Les Claypool's music, the material is still hugely innovative, highly independent, and excruciatingly thought-provoking. South of the Pumphouse is sure to be a cult phenomenon, doing for books what Donnie Darko and the Coen brothers did for film: bringing disquiet back to the forefront of popular writing.
Look for "South of the Pumphouse" to be released in July from Akashic Books: www.akashicbooks.com
GABBY LA LA TOUR DATES Solo Shows from April through July

Gabby also has a new expanded website in the works that should be up shortly, including a Journal so she can keep everyone up to date on what she is up to.
QUEST FOR FESTEROO Electric Apricot Festival Screenings
Praise is already growing for Les Claypool's first ever feature film. Entitled "Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo," the mockumentary-style spoof skewers the jamband scene (featuring cameos from many of the biggest artists in that genre) and stars Claypool - who also wrote and directed the picture - as Lap "Lapdog" Miklovich, drummer for the fictional jam band Electric Apricot.
Following a breakout (and award-winning, with the nod for "Best Comedy") sneak preview at California's Tiburon film festival this spring, the film will reach a wider audience this summer with festival engagements including a slots at the Malibu Film Festival and Portland (OR) Longbaugh festival in April. The film is slated for limited theatrical release, and national DVD release later in the year.
Catch screenings at the Portland film festival on 4/7 and the Malibu Film Festival on 4/9:
Longbaugh Film Festival (April 6-9) Clinton Street Theater @ 9:15 pm Friday April 7th 2522 SE Clinton St., Portland, OR (503-238-8899)
Malibu Film Fest Aero Theatre @ 9:30 pm Sunday April 9th 1328 Montana Ave., Santa Monica, CA
I think Gabby just has a special place with me for...umm... personal reason. I still have her CD and would buy more, and would definately be among my priorities (maybe among the 3rd places?) at roo.

Anybody else hear about the Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa/Steve Vai/other former players from Zappa's 82 group tour? Here it is www.zappa.com/cheezoid/whatsnew/zpz/index.html. anyway, you may notice a convienent little gap around the bonnaroo dates between Toronto and AZ. Maybe its just wishful thinking, but if they stopped at roo, even w/ Frank gone, it would be an amazing musical experience. Anyone else hopin for this?

oysterhead will not be put against bisco/umphrey's... and if they are it better be staggered so that oysterhead starts at like 10:45-1:00 and umph/ bisco 12:30-4:30.... otherwise thats just insane... I hope that bisco/umphs is moved to saturday after radiohead... now that would be a crazy night
