I just grabbed this cd today and after giving it a listen i can only hope they'll still be at bonnaroo, while i wont watch the whole show it is definatly something id like to catch a 1/2hr of.
The notoriously "fragile" recluse lives up to her reputation. I just read a piece on her in the new Harp (cover story) and she came off as much more stable than she's made out to be. In fact, they seemed to be conscioulsly playing down the crazy factor to help her fit that commercial availability of the new album.
A few new tour dates for Cat Power, and Bonnaroo is still in the mix (for now):
From Pitchfork:
Chan Marshall's immune system: it's the greatest! Bouncing back from those ominous and vague "health issues" that forced the cancellation of Cat Power's late-winter tour in support of her latest album, The Greatest, Marshall has announced a smattering of dates surrounding her appearances at the Coachella and Bonnaroo festivals this spring.
The V for Vendetta soundtrack star and her phagocytic cells will be backed by the Memphis Rhythm Band at all of the shows. More gigs are apparently in the works.
Float like a butterfly:
