You know, the more and more I listen to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! the more I am looking forward to seeing them at Bonnaroo. They are nothing shy of amazing and have such variety in their music. The only band I can really compare to them as far as variety goes is The Beatles. They have strange tracks like "Clap Your Hands," great jams like "Blue Turning Grey," cool grooves like "Gimme Some Salt," and dynamic vocal melodies like "Is This Love?" I can't get over them. Anyone else stoked for their performance?

I'm very stoked, I think they're gonna rock. I think you might be overshooting them with the Beatles comparison, though... CYHSY! has released exactly one album, hehe.

I love the album. I tend to listen to it more then I should and I don't even notice. It took a few listenings to really get into it. I love "Heavy Metal"
You can download a WOXY.com show as a podcast in the itunes podcast directory. IMO, it's not so good so I hope the roo set is better. I have a feeling it will be. I plan on catching a stop on their tour to hear some more.

No, no, no! My bad. I wouldn't even start to compare them to the musical genius of The Beatles as a whole. It's just that being the biggest Beatles fan ever for several years now has made me realize how they revolutionized music by changing their style and performing lots of different sounding songs. The Beatles were a very diverse band throughout their careers, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! are very diverse throughout the course of one album. That's all I'm saying.
This album grew on me fast towards the end of 2005. I'm looking forward to seeing 'em also -- their show at The Metro here in Chicago sold out in a couple of hours. There's a chance I might be able to catch them out in Denver though. We'll seeeeeee...
I've seen them a few times in philly and nyc...IMO, they are a blast live with lots of energy. However, much like the album, their live act usually splits the masses...I've heard other people at the shows complain that it was the "worst show ever" - I think Alec's (the lead singer) voice is all over the place live...I personally love the sense of urgency this conveys, but others hate it. Oh, and they often cover Neil Young's Helpless (+1)...and the best song of their live set is a song that is not even on the album...It's called "Satan Said Dance"...and it will blow you away if you like their other stuff
