honestly, i have no idea why every1s begging for wilco to come back...pretty much everything was bad after being there, summerteeth was good, but yankee hotel foxtrot was bleh and so was a ghost is born. id beg them to come back if it was the old wilco, but the new stuff is jim o'rourkes junk
yankee hotel foxtrot was bleh and so was a ghost is born
Are you sure you listened to the same albums I did? I mean Yankee Hotel has some of the most poetic lyrics I've ever heard, on anything in recent memory. Like I said before....Everything Tweedy touches turns gold.
"tall buildings shake voices escape singing sad sad songs tuned to chords strung down your cheeks bitter melodies turning your orbit around" - Jesus, Etc.

You're treading on some very personal ground now.
Yankee Hotel and A Ghost is Born are both earth shattering albums, Yankee Hotel probably being the second most important album of our generation next to Radiohead's OK Computer.
Wilco is another one of those band's who have shown great flexibility throughout their careers. I love every single one of their albums without exception and their live shows are outstanding.
If you're a jam band fan, you can't deny the ridiculously amazing jam out on Spiders (Kidsmoke). If you like lyrics, you've got Shot in the Arm, or Ashes of American Flags, or any of their other ridiculously well written songs. I'm just overwrought that someone doesn't understand why Wilco is amazing.

So sad.
dont get me wrong here - i am a huge wilco fan, but i still cant lump Yankee Hotel and Ghost is born in the same category...that is to say Ghost hasnt changed my life yet.
Actually i would say that Being There and Summerteeth tie for #1 in my book, with Yankee Hotel coming a close second.
summerteeth and being there seem sort of juvenile when compared to yankee foxtrot and a ghost is born....and trust me, I love both summerteeth and being there.....i just think they've just grown and tried to progress with each record.....kinda like radiohead jumping from pablo honey and the bends to ok computer and kid a.....they're not staying put in one place, which i love!
