I just got there album and they are amazing. Has anyone seen them live? What did you think? Do you think there is any chance of them being added to the line up?
Old Crow was the first set I saw on Friday of last year's 'Roo and it was excellent. I don't think they'll be added this year because of Superfly's policy not to have too many repeats, but if you get a chance to see 'em, you won;t be disappointed
since when does superfly have a policy about too many repeats. there are repeats every year. check out the past lineups. from year to year there are bands that play one year and then the next. it may only be one out of every ten bands repeats, but that doesn't mean there is some big policy against it. i don't mean to come down on you for saying that, it's just that i have heard it on several message boards, and i personally don't think it is true. as far as old crow goes they are amazing, and are playing on June 22 in nashville. that can be taken either way. 1. they will be in tennessee during the time of Roo, so they could play. 2. they are already playing in Tennessee close to that time, no reason to play at the Roo.
The repeat thing started with Tea Leaf Green's supposed explanation from Superfly as to why they haven't been invited back for 2006 and some other article on Widespread Panic where Superfly claims they're trying to cut back on all the repeats. I don't necessarily think it's a "policy," but it seems to be something they're becoming a little more conscious of. Obviously it's not TOO strict, but whatever.
I too just picked up that OCMS album and am loving it.

I'd love to see more bands like Old Crow and Yonder and Hot Buttered get added... NEW RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE thats what i wanna see... Probably wont happen but i would freek...
