Guitar- Santana
#2 Guitar- Omar A. Rodriguez- Lopez
Bass - Flea, or Les since he'll be there
Drums - John Theodore (or Danny Carey from Tool...I know Tool does not go with Bonnaroo but your an idiot if you dont think Carey is one of the best drummers of all time.)
Vocals - None... unless Robert Plant could pull out something amazing
And Some Bongos....Dont care who plays em but you gotta have bongos to jam and some organ or keyboards
I was thinking about this one for a little while, I wanted to limit myself to people that will be at roo (some say i'm i dreamer . . .) I figured I wanted Stewart Copeland on drums. Next I thought about bassists and realized Les was obviously my best bet. In the end I decided I'd be happy watching Oysterhead bring out Robert Randolph. Wanna make it interesting? ditch Trey, bring in Costello on vocals and guitar, as well as the vocals and keys from Ben Folds. Popper can bring the harmonica for a few songs.
Bass: Victor Wooten Harmonica: John Popper Keys: Ben Folds Banjo: Bela Fleck Drums: Carter Beauford Guitar: Trey Anastasio Vocals: Beck Violin: Andrew Bird

Drums: Stewart Copland Bass: Victor Wooten Piano/Keytar/Vocals: Ben Folds Guitar: Buddy Guy Guitar: Dweezil Zappa Sacred Steel/Vocals: Robert Randolph Violin/Guitar/Vocals: Andrew Bird Harmonica/Vocals: John Popper
That should pretty much blow my mind and my wad, and it could quite possibly happen this year (ok Dweezil is a long shot suprise guest but everyone else is in)
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

my dream superjam:
flea and victor wooten with dueling basses eddie vedder with vocal trey on guitar leon mobley with precussion matt cameron on drums robert randolph on slide and me wailing on my harmonica or mandolin
Guitar: Buddy Guy Guitar: Mike Campbell Bass: Phil Lesh Drums: Stewart Copeland Vocals: Steve Earle Harp: John Popper Pedal Steel: Robert Randolph Keys: Dr. John
That SuperJam would kick ass! I think all of their styles would complement each other pretty well and I'd have a goddamn blast.
he has such a unique style of playing. i thnk the NY Times music editor once described his style as "some guitarists play as though they're dancing with their guitar, greenwood plays as though he's wrestling with his" and anyone who's seen his solos during Just, Paranoid Android, My Iron Lung, or Go To Sleep knows he'a amazing to watch live...
and he not only kills it on guitar, but like 20 other instruments as well, not to mention his mastery of modified effects gadgets, etc. he's classically trained, has written instrumental scores for movies and has been the BBC's composer-in-residence since 2004.
If scientists could clone 20 jonnys, they could all pick up a different instrument and have a pretty sweet jam session

I'm with ya...I just get the feeling that all his other abilities have overshadowed his guitar playing talent....probably in part to his own doing, but when he focuses on that guitar he'll fry your brains.

Yeah, I have it. It's not something I listen to very often, but when I'm "properly" zoned out it does have a world of it's own. You should rent the dvd if you haven't seen the film yet. Sometimes it helps hearing it all in context.
i agree completly with you deathreau. radiohead is amazing and greenwood rocks. has anyone ehard his album bodysong?
I have that movie... it's a trip! basically just one vintage archive clip after another, no VO or anything else... just the clips and jonny's sparse music. goes through all the life stages: conception, labor, birth, growing and walking, play, teenage, courting and kissing, sex, sex frenzy, eating, violence, riot, war, death, re-birth, dance, signs & language, dreams and hope
It's one of those documentaries that most people would dismiss as "weird" but has a quiet beauty to it. I liked how many different cultures were represented. It does have a somewhat somewhat cold and distant vibe tho...

well keller isnt playing roo yet, but i think that a looping duel/duet with andrew bird could be sick. Andrew bird samples and loops materials, and can probably plays as many different instruments as well. I havent seen him or heard all that much stuff, but i hear he plays killer shows.

that he does. he is an amazing musician and he and keller would kick as as a looping duet. andrew bird is most famous for guest starrign on many people albums wiht his beutiful whistling. he also plays the glokenspeil (can't spell) the guiatr, the violin, and the bass just to name a few
