i have a bootleg disc of thom solo at the bridge school benefit, it is verrrryyyy nice, he even covers neil young.....i cant wait to hear this stuff though.
thom yorke solo performances are awesome...however, i can't help but wonder if EW has its facts straight...I don't really see how a Thom Yorke solo album is coming out anytime soon considering the band has been in the studio....I could see Thom contributing a song or two (or three) to the soundtrack...but I can't imagine an entire solo album coming our anytime soon....I'm hoping I'm wrong though
Yea, I can't really imagine it. It seems unlikely, being that this is the first I've even heard of a possible solo release. But even still, here's to hoping
Radiohead singer snubs Tony Blair 'It was all getting weird,' says Thom Yorke
LONDON, England (AP) -- Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke says he turned down the chance to discuss climate change with Tony Blair because the British prime minister has "no environmental credentials."
The charity Friends of the Earth, for which the singer is an ambassador, asked him to meet Blair.
But Yorke said Blair had no record of championing the environment and added that dealing with the governing Labour Party's "spin doctors" made him feel ill.
"I got so stressed out and so freaked out about it. Initially when it came up I tried to be pragmatic," Yorke told New Music Express magazine in an issue out Tuesday. "But Blair has no environmental credentials as far as I'm concerned."
"It was like talking to Blair's spin doctors. It was all getting weird. It was just obvious there was no point in meeting him anyway, and I didn't want to," he said.
Yorke says the experience has soured him on political activism.
"I came out of that whole period just thinking, I don't want to get involved directly, it's poison. I'll just shout my mouth off from the sidelines."
Yorke is backing Friends of the Earth's Big Ask campaign, which is calling for international cuts in greenhouse gas emissions.
Radiohead will play a benefit concert for the campaign at London's Koko Club on May 1. The band recently announced a club tour in England.
They have been working on new material for the follow up to their politically themed 2003 disc, "Hail to the Thief."
Yea, I read it on bbc.co.uk/6music today. They've also now announced UK tour dates (aside from the festivals) in early spring, just before they head to Bonnaroo.
No US tour dates have been confirmed yet (aside from Bonnaroo).

I just hope they come relatively close on the US tour....Detroit (I know, not likely) or Cleveland would be nice, but I'll drive to Chicago if I have to.
That is one of the very reasons I am completely SICK with excitement this year. Radiohead being at Bonnaroo is just awsesoem as it is. But the fact that they are actually coming to my home state, and only 4 hours away makes it just down right unbelievable.
I'm not certain, but I'm not sure that they've ever even been to Tennessee. Someone tell me if I'm wrong, please!
