I just went to the WSP website - they're due to release an album in mid-June, but they have no tour plans after early May. Anyone hear any rumblings about a summer tour? A late afternoon WSP set at Roo would be just what the doctor ordered.... ;D
Absolutely Not Going To Happen!!!! There is no way that WSP is not going to go from headlining two nights to any other set. Keep dreaming my friend. Keep dreaming.

Hey, I know it's a long shot, but a girl can dream, right?!?!
Superfly has already said somewhere (can't find it atm) that as much as they would like, they can not have Widespread Panic every year or something along those lines.
WTF is with this "not every year" bullshit? Seems like some crazy policy they instated this year - like now is a good time to tell TLG and WSP that they can't come b/c coveted slots are being held by Cypress Hill?!?! I dig CH, but comparing the 2 seems like apples and oranges to me. Since when did throwing a festival become about democracy? Shouldn't Superfly be doing everything in their power to throw the biggest, baddest fest possible?

They do have repeat acts, but they DEFINITELY don't want the same HEADLINERS two years in a row!! ESPECIALLY not one that took up two spots last year!!
I'm not a Panic fan, so I'm totally biased, but Radiohead is SO MUCH better than Panic (musically, live show, etc.) that it's not even comparable. I mean they are in a different SOLAR SYSTEM. Phil and Sco alone are better than Panic as a whole, so that's gonna blow it all out of the water anyway (just my opinion). I don't care about Petty that much, however.

I'm with you venus. Seem them live 3 times -- given them plenty of honest tries. I just don't see the appeal at all. I'm not going to list my reasons or anything, just never got it.
I was a Phish FANATIC though, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't get that. To each their own, fo sho.
I confess I didn't listen to much Panic before Bonnaroo last year (and I still don't now). But I would have liked them a lot more had I stumbled upon them at a tent at 2 am than essentially being FORCED (not really forced, but they were the only act playing for like 7 hours of last year) to see them. If I overdosed on anything last year it was WSP. Had they been in a late nite tent I probably woulda chilled outside their set for an hour or so, and would have enjoyed it thouroughly; but as far as headlining goes, I am in agreence, Radiohead (whom I'm not even a huge fan of) is a way bigger, more delicious headliner. Exaltations all around!

Exactly. I saw them live with a buddy of mine who listens to NOTHING but jam music. They were his favorite band and I honestly tried to like them... but, in the end, I just found them lackluster.

Same thing w/ me Clutch. You couldn't get away from it -- like it or not. Granted that's always the case w/ headliners, but if you don't like Radiohead, for instance, at least you don't have to listen to it for SEVEN HOURS.

since I was camped out in BFE it was great to have WSP headlining two nights. That way we didn't miss anything else when we went back to get some grub from the camp site. Then we came back and caught the tail end of the show which was nice.
