Do people really go to the comedy tent? I mean was excited when I heard about it last year and then I totally forgot about it when I was at 'roo. I didn't even realize I had forgotten until I got home. The few times I had some down time the line into the comdey tent was just ridiculous. You truly do have to go to 'roo mulitple times to experience everything.

I went in '04 & '05 (my only years @ Roo). Got totally screwed by some drunk staffer telling us that UCB was up next on Saturday, and they weren't. Wasted like 2 hours of my day. The roughly 30 of us that waited tried to stage a mini-revolt, but they threatened to cut our wristbands so we relented. Ended up waiting in line the next day for another 2 hours -- then found out it wasn't the UCB from TV. But Paul Scheer was hilarious, and I had fun.
Went to Charlie Murphy on Thurs. night last year - pretty funny. Waited in line for about 2 hours, but it was before any music was going on, so we were just chilling, laid out on the grass.
I just walked right in on Thurs night last year for Charlie Murphy's last 15 to 20 minutes which was hilarious. Other than that, I never wanted to wait in line and miss music so I never went in.

Hence the genius of starting the comedy b4 the music on Thursday, thefrp.
There are also a$$holes and gatecrashes at the comedy tent too, who tear in front of you before you get in the actual chute, after you've waited over an hour.
Considering there was only 1 hip/hop act in the initial lineup, Round 4 was most definitely necessary. Perhaps they could have split some of the announcements up, but I have the feeling after Lyrics Born and Blackalicious leaked, they didn't have much of a choice but announce them.
The Streets is great. If you don't get him, I feel sorry for you. You might just need to be a broke white male to get it. Gift of Gab is a pretty spot on MC too, so I'm excited to see Blackalicious. Not too huge a fan of Cypress Hill, but then they bring the whole Latin hip/hop thing to play.
Honestly, the complaints about hip/hop are pretty unmerited considering how unrepresented the genre was before Round 4. Like Lucid, I'm expecting a pretty big announcement in the next two rounds. I don't really think it will be expected though. And if you pay attention to whose out there releasing material this summer and going on tour, there are some pretty interesting possibilities
