So who gets a tent and who gets a stage? And furthermore, are they going to do the schedule/stage set-up like last year? There were 23 stage acts last year; but Superfly only used the stage once during late nite. I understand that since the headline goes until late, the "What" stage probably wouldn't be availble late nite (well . . . maybe it could). I also know there isn't much time for Late nite stage action, seeing how there is no late nite Sunday. Think any of this will change? I don't forsee them extending us the pleasure of a late nite Sunday, but maybe more stage action; someone other than Trey needs to rock a stage in the dark (he got the only late nite stage last year, and probably will again this year [and no offence to huge phish or Trey fans, but I was not very impressed with his set last year; albeit I only watched the first hour or so]).
So here's what I've sumised. We get an extra stage show late nite, maybe one or two more in the daytime. Roughly 25 acts or so. Who gets those precious stages? I'm guessing it will be the first 25 or 26 artists liasted on the "artists" page on bonnaroo's website. I place the cut-off at Ricky Skaggs. Everyone from him and above will see stage time; Steel Pulse and below will be in tents (exclude Umph Mcgee, they're confirmed as late nite TENT show w/ biscuits [unless they also get their own set?]). Just a theory.

Oh I left after two songs into Trey's set. It was probably one of the most boring shows I have ever seen(No offense either). Im thinking Oysterhead is deffinately going to play on the smaller stage latenite.

OHead will get the Which Stage late night - 1st concert appearance since '01!! No way they can fit them in a tent. They should definitely do a Which Stage late-night Fri. & Sat. - don't know why they haven't done this before, in fact.
Primus had the late night Which Stage action in '04 - that was hot.

totally agree on both points. Trey noodled around for awhile and kind of mumbled into the mic intermittently, and none of if it was very loud, thats all I remember. And oh yea, lots of kids threw glowsticks everywhere; apparently thats the new cool thing, throwing around large quanities of glowsticks in the dark while you hail a man as genius no matter what he plays. Nonetheless, I still like Phish, and I'm stoaked for Oysterhead to get a stage and rock the hell out of it.

You shouldn't equate a glowstick war w/ "hailing a man as genius." It's a glowstick war. It is a cool thing -- it's an audience-induced light show. Trey @ Bonnaroo is about the only place w/ enough energy & effort for them to occur anymore - even at his lackluster show last year. Prepare for a much larger & more enthusiastic one @ OHead this year. I'm bringing a ton.
Didn't mean to misassociate the two concepts. I should have used the word "and" in that sentance somewhere. I didn't mean to imply that the throwing of the glow sticks was signifying that he was a genius. But merely the fact that a) lots of people were throwing glowsticks (at times it seems dozens of them would burst out at once, almost like someone had a glow stick cannon). and b) both during and after the show I heard numerous persons trying to talk about how "sick Trey's show was." (including one of my very confused friends) I dug the glowsticks, they entertained me more than what was on stage, please do bring more.

OK - I gotcha. I'm definitely bringing a LOT. Some kids last year spent like $600 on glowsticks and let them go all at once during that war @ Trey. That's way too much $$$ for me to spend just on sticks, but I'll bring plenty.
$600 on glowsticks! wow thats ridiculous. he should've saved that money and maybe donated it to a local charity at christmas. to me that just seems like an outrageous waste of cash.
I dunno, if you didn't see all those glowsticks, they entertained a lot of people. I'm sure there are places for buying glowsticks in bulk, or maybe someone has a dad who works at the glowstick factory. 600 bucks of glowsticks is OK in my book if they wanna throw 'em around at nite like they did last year. What I found most interesting was the fact that many glowsticks seemed to be burting out in huge amounts. It wasn't like everyone was throwing a single glowstick (stuff like that is fun but dangerous, anyone involved in the waterbottle melee at the last Dispatch concert?!? It was crazy, 100,000 kids started throwing their empty deer park bottles everywhere. Drops of water flew everywhere, tt felt like it was raining in what was otherwise 90 degree heat. Sadly, one of my friends recieved a black-eye from those otherwise blessed waterbottles.). Instead, some people were throwing single glowsticks, but it seemed elsewhere that one, or a group of people were chucking a bunch of them at once. They seemed to stay together until they got high enough into the air, then they all burst apart like fireworks, pretty wild.

I thought Trey's set was great at the time -- but I probably would have thought any live music was great at the time. What I saw of KDTU afterwards probably trumped it, though. That and the Sonic Forest.
If anyone was @ the Forest super-late Sat. night (after KDTU) last year, and remember a guy standing right outside of it going "WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW," that was my friend. He decoded it in his mind.
Here's my predictions for the two big stages. The days are based on the info in the Schedule thread, everything else is PURE SPECULATION:
Friday:
Main Stage Steel Pulse RRFB Elvis Costello Tom Petty (probably room for one more band here)
2nd stage I'll guess Nickel Creek Ben Folds Bright Eyes Death Cab
Could also play a big stage Friday: Mike Gordon, G. Love, Ricky Skaggs, Cat Power (assuming by her reputation she'd prefer the more intimate tent?), MMJ (I'm predicting late night, would be a stage if during the day)
With all of those potential big stage acts, I don't think we'll see any big additions to Friday, and don't think its likely we'll see Les, Common or Cypress Hill here (we don't have dates for them yet).
Saturday:
Main Stage Neville Brothers Dr. John Buddy Guy Beck Radiohead
2nd stage I think Damian Marley might close the 2nd stage. I think MMW may be late night, but they would probably be here if not. Other possibilities are Gomez, Blues Traveller, Rusted Root, Steve Earle maybe?
I could definitely see either Les, Common or Cypress Hill on the 2nd stage here or room for an addition.
Sunday
Main Stage Matisyahu Bonnie Raitt moe. Phil Lesh (probably room for one more band here)
2nd stage Bela Fleck seems to fit here. Other than that, I think we'll get some form of Les, Common, Cypress Hill here. Maybe Sonic Youth. Definitely could be room for an addition here.

Mike's little bio on the official 'roo site says he's bringing Ramble Dove to the "big stage." Don't know if this refers to any stage at 'roo being bigger than a club in Burlington, or if it refers to the actual What Stage. Guess we'll find out soon enough! (or not soon enough).
FRIDAY (in 05 both stages only had 3 acts on Fri) Main Stage: R. Randolph, E. Costello, T. Petty
Second Stage: Nickel Creek, Bright Eyes or Ben Folds, Death Cab
Late Night Acts: Umphreys/Disco; Lyrics Born, Blackalicious, My Morning Jacket other late-nite possibiilites: Betty LaVette, G. Love
SATURDAY Main Stage: Damien Marley, Buddy Guy, Beck, Radiohead Second Stage: Steve Earle, Blues Traveler or Rusted Root, Gomez, Common Late Night: Medeski Martin and Wood, Oysterhead (stage), Sasha, the Streets, Dresden Dolls, New Orleans (Rebirth-->Neville Bros-->Dr. John)
SUNDAY Main Stage: Matisyahu, moe., Bonnie Raitt, Phil Lesh and Friends Second Stage: Son Volt, Bela Fleck, Soulive or Sonic Youth, Les Claypool
