The late night schedule for Saturday is getting crowded, however definately can be maintained for everyone's enjoyment. Dr. John is a legend and puts on a hell of a show. The superjam should be fun as well.
Let me stick my neck out and recommend two groups that don't get as much hype, but will put on a hell of a show indeed. Garage Deluxe and the Avett Brothers are playing on the Troo Music Lounge stage with the Avetts going first. The Avett's are a tight three piece bluegrass group on speed. They are wild and pack more energy in their show than most artists I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. They are from the mountains of NC and definately have the talent to be a big contender in years to come.
Garage Deluxe has got to be one of the best bands I have seen this year. I have caught them twice at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC and they definately are on their way up the chain. They run in the same circle as Perpetual Groove and Moonshine Still, but their music is very unique and distinctive. Any fan of Govt. Mule and the Black Crowes are sure to love these guys. They have great original songs and pick a few choice covers that sometimes creep into the sets. I saw them do Ween's "Booze Me Up and Get Me High" on 420 at the Orange Peel with Burning Spear.
I think that Bonnaroo for me is a chance to catch other artists that I might never have heard about without this great festival. I am here to say that the Avett Brothers and Garage Deluxe will not disappoint.

Yes, Booze Me Up sent the Orange Peel crowd into a frenzy. I heard it through the grapevine that Johnny Neel worked with Garage Deluxe on their album that was just released. Hopefully they will be selling some during their set. That guy is sick. I wish that he would make an appearance at Bonnaroo. But yes, you should mozy that way and catch these guys. Long hair, beards, and old ass instruments.
