the question I appose is... would you want to be worried about taping while at that show? probably not. I highly doubt that set will ever surface. It'd be awesome if it did.. but probably not.
Do you personally know any tapers?? I know several and YES they DO want to be worried about taping at those sets because thats what they do, they love it!
I know that I personally, as I am sure many others, tend to forget just exactly what a service these tapers provide to us, the music loving community.
I went with a guy about 4 years ago to tape the DMB show at Starwood (or whatever they are calling it these days!) Ampitheatre in Nashville.
He had to get tickets in the seats rather than GA, and starwood does not have a tapers section or tapers tickets. We got hassled at security because "Starwood does not allow people to record the shows". This idiot security guy thought he knew what he was talking about. we had to wait like 30 minutes to get in while they called people on the little walkie Talkie, all the while we are trying to explain to the what it means to be a taper friendly band.
After we finally got in , we had to lug all of his equipment to the seats, this was 4 or 5 year ago remember, there have been alot of advances in the size of quality taping equipment since then.
He had a mic stand that was like 15 or 20 feet tall and then the DAT deck and wires and batteries and such.
the worst part was when we finally got to the seats and all set up. The people, aaarrrggg!!!!! Bumping into the mic stand, screaming at the mic. Lord have mercy!!!!
After it all, he ended up with a good recording, and folks were stoked!!!
These guys do not have to do it, they do it because they love it!!! they want to get this music out there.
So back to the original question, yea, they do want to be bothered by all that, its whay they are at the show in the first place.
NOW SOMEBODY PUT OUT THE DAMN SASHA SET ALREADY!!!!!!
I'm going VIP this year, so I'm going to buy a decent handheld video camera to shoot some good footage of my experience this year. So, so excited. I'll make sure to get a good chunk of this set.
hey rooskew. were you at the superjam earlier in the night in the pirate outfit. near the back left corner if youre looking at the tent from a distance. i remember standing next to a pirate. pretty hilarious if it was.

Haha- that's me! Tri-corner hat with red trim to be exact... I wore my fluffy white shirt, hat and drug a skeleton on a noose with the word "Coachella" taped to it ALL NIGHT that night. First dancing on the floats, then at Superjam, then for Sasha til dawn!
Was anyone else moved when the sun came up during his set? The crowd was *insane*, especially at the end. I don't think anyone there wanted him to stop.
I would have danced straight on till the Noon music started on Sunday.
Thank You Paranoidbot for those nuggets of Roo Sasha.
My Brain was in Melt-Mode when the sun was coming up. God that was Unreal. That and the late late night Particle in '03 were two of my favorite Roo shows EVER. I will always dig on some late night/early morning dance party fever!
