I was way too busy to notice, but were there tapers at Sasha's set? I really want to get a copy of it, but when I think back to it, I cant remember seeing and mics up in the air....
I was there for the whole sasha set and honestly I thought it was sub-par (I've seen him live more times than I can remember). However the energy under that tent is something I havent seen since raves in the late 90s, it was truely something I'm glad I was a part of I think I'm still sore from dancing nonstop for 3 hours.
It just kept going... it was beautiful. I was all over the place in a pirate hat with a flask of amaretto. I barely noticed the sun come up and suddenly it was daylight...

I think there must have been 10 glowsticks for every person under that tent. The whole place seemed to be on fire. I hope some video shows up on youtube.
I wasn't even at this set, but that is definitely some goosebumpy goodness. How many times have I gotten goosebumps just reading/listening to/thinking about Bonnaroo the last few days? A lot.
OK guys, especially bringinit & paranoidbot...Sasha is a dude. Yea, I tell ya Sasha is a dude, not a band. I was told by my wacked out best friend that Sasha was a folk singer and that I could look forward to the same delight I had Friday night and that I would be put to sleep with some mellow tunes. Anyway, my friend crashes at 2:30 am Sunday, so I go back into the fray alone to experience this Sasha. So, I'm dancing my ass off to this DJ and after 15 minutes I ask the girl next to me, "when is Sasha coming on"? She looks at me and says, "Dude, this is Sasha" I almost lost it. Feeling cheated, I returned to my tent (which was 50 yards from the Other Tent in the RV section) and listened to that pumping bass for the next 90 minutes. The ground was shaking so bad I had to get up and chug a few beers just to get my equilibrium. No regrets though....I was at the Roo.

haha... yes, but he's very careful to tailor his experiences so he's not just a simple DJ. He's a producer and dj with a distinct flavor and incredible ability/skill set. His current setup and tour creation of computers and equipment even has its own name this year, "Fundacion" and he's touring under its moniker as an artist with actual grants and funding.
Anyway. I have an all-new appreciation for him. As far as I'm concerned, he can be whomever he wants.

yeah and these shows are not him spinning. He's creating a live dance show through loops and samples on the fly and feeding off the audience. It's a much more organic dance mix. Much more complex than just playing records and cross fading.
Not a fan of trance. But I have seen him a number of times. Even once or twice with that other guy before he sold himself out by appearing in that awful movie Groove, that was a joke, and the girl Polywog.....the pits. But I digress. Anyways Sasha is very talented and very expencive to hire so I'm glad some of you go to enjoy it.
Was anyone else moved when the sun came up during his set? The crowd was *insane*, especially at the end. I don't think anyone there wanted him to stop.
Bump. Are there seriously *no* recordings of this set?
that's what i'm screamin'. that one youtube video just barely, and i mean barely captures the vibe during that set. that show was one of those that happens once every few years, with everything meshing together perfectly: the music, the audience, the time, the setting, the sunrise. i really needed that set of music, and i am especially thankful that i was able to be there to experience it. like one of the posters before me said, it's been a long time since i've seen electronic music received the way it was at bonnaroo that sunday morning. awesome, awesome i say!

i just watched that youtube, and I realized that I am the person standing with a cowboy hat on, on the right side of the camera. That little party was unreal.
the question I appose is... would you want to be worried about taping while at that show? probably not. I highly doubt that set will ever surface. It'd be awesome if it did.. but probably not.
