So after listening through Both Sides of the Gun today, I was just wondering what other people here thought were the chances of Ben Harper (and the Innocent Criminals) playing at Bonnaroo 2007. They weren't there last year, and I don't think they were in 2005. Since they last played he has released that awesome new album, so I am hoping he plays this next edition. Anyone got any thoughts on this?
Cool idea. I don't think they've had a jump in popularity to where they could take a three and a half hour headlining slot, but a late night second-stage show (like Trey or Primus in the past) would be incredible. 12-2:45 or whatever, they would tear up.
Would a Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, G. Love get together on the main stage warrant a headline spot? Could be a fun thing. Although I would want to see all of them individually too...
I kind of like guys like Ben Harper and Jack Johnson to be in the daytime - just chillin' underneath the hot sun listening to some relaxin' music. I could maybe see Ben rockin late night, but I would prefer something a little edgier, a little more psychadelic.
Regardless, I would love to see Ben Harper there and I'll see him whenever they slot him -

yeah ben will probably be there, saw him at acl this past year, awesome, voodoo child, get up stand up, could collaborate with many people including string cheese, jack johnson, g. love, donavon frankenreiter, matt costa, pearl jam,
Well Ben Harper just got added to Wakarusa, so what's the likelihood he'll follow up that show the next weekend with a show at Bonnaroo? I don't know what the history is of Waka performers and Bonnaroo, but in my mind this is perfect and god-willing will hopefully put him on the lineup.

Bonnaroo usually has a decent amount of the top performers at Wakarusa, at Bonnaroo. Last year, Claypool, Bela Fleck, and a few others played Roo and Waka. So I wouldn't be surprised to see Widespread, Harper, and North Mississippi Allstars at Roo.
I think he'll definitely been there since he hasn't been since 2003! That's actually one I would bet on
I feel pretty confident about this one too
Although last year I was soooo confident that Jenny Lewis would be added I didn't even question it... but alas, no Jenny, so hopefully I didn't just jinx it!
It's probably been 5 years since I've seen him. The Louisville Palace show I caught was pheonmenal.
That was my first Ben show. If your talking about the show on 5/7/01. That was an awesome show. Lets all hope Ben shows up. The Chicago show last year was too great.
I saw him at Bonnaroo 03 and at ACL 04 and loved it both times. It has been 2 1/2 yrs now, I'm due to see him again.
And I too was almost sure Jenny Lewis would be there last year too, so much so that I picked up her album with the Watson Twins during my annual "buy as many roo performer cds as I can" binge.
the guy at the end is my favorite! i'd put money on ben playing...he did a show with the AC folks in september and it was one of the better shows I've ever seen.
