1. Amorphous Androgynus would be totally perfect. (if you don't know what im talking about then go to Futuresoundoflondon.com and listen) 2. James Brown 3. Iron & Wine 4. Flaming Lips 5. Sole W/ Jel 6. Buena Vista Social Club 7. String Cheese Incident 8. Wooten Family Band 9. Toubab krewe 10. Old Crow Medicine Show
1. String Cheese Incident 2. The Dead or any form of them 3. Yonder Mountain String Band 4. Ben Harper or Jack Johnson 5. Warren Haynes (solo, A. Brothers, Gov't Mule, or The Dead) 6. John Butler Trio 7. Tea Leaf Green 8. Robert Randolph & the Family Band (I agree w/ Samjaco late night would be sweet) 9. Widespread Panic 10. Mofro
My list, at the moment, and in no particular order...
1. Josh Rouse 2. Ray Lamontagne 3. Ben Lee 4. John Butler Trio 5. Old Crow Medicine Show 6. Marc Broussard 7. Amos Lee 8. Calexico 9. Dispatch 10. STS9 (late night) 11. Gomez (can't get enough!)

1. Umphrey's (yes again) 2. Boards of Canada/The Books/Aphex Twin (as a late nite experimental chill out ambient tent) 3. Tea Leaf Green 4. Mark Kozelek in some form (Red House Painters or Sun Kil Moon) 5. String Cheese 6. MMJ (but not up against Umphrey's again) 7. Fishbone 8. RAQ 9. Grace Potter 10. Joni Mitchell
(This is also assuming there will automatically be some form of Trey, as well as Panic).
1. Bjork. Yeah, I know. But if you disagree give me a reason why. She will be promoting a new album in '07, a genre-bender that includes quite a bit of hip hop influence. She has played big festivals in the US before. 2. Afrika Bambaataa. Don't cross the Zulu Nation. They're still releasing albums and have gotten quite a bit of attention this year (such as the VH1 hip hop honors). 3. Clint Mansell / Pop Will Eat Itself. The 3 poppies not including Clint will be touring in '07 and haven't ruled out reunion shows. Most of you are probably more familiar with Clint's solo work (Requiem for a Dream). 4. John Fogerty / CCR Reunion. Not CCR Revisited. CCR is about as likely as Floyd reunion, unfortunately. Who wouldn't want to lay out in the TN sun with a bowl and listen to Creedence? 5. The Pixies. The Pixies are currently recording a new album and will be touring in 07. I think they could easily be a headliner. If you don't know who the Pixies are you're probably too young to have caught them the first time around. I was. 6. Dead Can Dance. Late night set. Supposedly there's a new album and tour in the works. 7. Wyclef Jean. Roo seems pretty friendly to reggae and hip-hop so why not? 8. The Herbalizer. Stoner friendly hip hop. 9. Infected Mushroom. Late night set. They're constantly touring. 10. Juno Reactor. Their Tokyo tour DVD is absolutely mind blowing. Depends on how many people want to see more psychadelic trance at Roo.
I'd also like to see Skinny Puppy, who will be also be touring in '07. I think SP would be a great fit (as a very late night set, like Dresden Dolls) but I don't know if the jam scene would have an open mind about it.

string cheese incident widespread panic trey del mccoury benevento russo duo the new deal my morning jacket Mastodon(kind of heavy, ahh whatever) john fogerty country joe mcdonald
With Billy leaving the band in July, I would hope that String Cheese will play one more time, as long as Bonnaroo is not the same weekend as Telluride Bluegrass Festival this year.
i agree about string cheese. i really hope they are at roo. maybe this will be enough to get them the headline. i doubt it. but a late nght would be good stuff.
i also think ekoostik hookah is due to come back. they have been putting on killer shows. but im sure they would get an afternooon slot so that would not be too great. i think they would be perfect for a much needed thursday latenight

Saw Daft Punk this weekend at the Bang Festival in Miami. HOLY F'N SHIT!!! WOW!! One of the best shows I've ever seen. Ranks up there with Radiohead at Red Rocks.
They would be an out of control crazy latenight show for Bonnaroo.

IMO, Daft Punk is one of those artists that is just too far out of reach for Bonnaroo. Not that their style doesn't fit, but because they play so very rarely, especially outside Europe, that it is highly unlikely Bonnaroo could get them. Hell, look at how many years it took Coachella to get them. But I also have to say that I am terribly jealous that you saw them. It's the definition of a dream come true.

Coachella has been the "media hype date" for a few big acts who were prefacing a major tour in the next year or so. It might be a stretch of reasoning, but you never know.

The Smashing Pumpkins (my favorite band, ever... see below) The Mars Volta David Bowie Sigur Ros (how brilliant would they be from 12-4?) Explosions In the Sky (same as Sigur Ros) Dredg (they seem to fit so perfectly) Aesop Rock The White Stripes Pearl Jam Flaming Lips
Also: Wilco Interpol
Notes: The Smashing Pumpkins are getting back together. They're about halfway through tracking it, and it's expected to be out by mid 2007. Check out their myspace for blogs from Jimmy, and smashingpumpkins.com to sign up for their mailing list. I saw some people hoping for Broken Social Scene. I saw them this past Saturday in Ann Arbor, and they aknowledged the fact that they're going on hiatus for a few years, if not perminantly. A few people said Neutral Milk Hotel, but Jeff Mangum hasn't played any of those songs, or under that moniker since 2001. It was reported that he was supposed to be recording and touring again in 2006, but that was a hoax. I wish I could see Neutral Milk Hotel, but I know it probably will never happen.
That sucks to hear that about BSS. I just saw them in Atlanta and it was a really good show. Maybe if they get a couple of paydays they will get back together for a festival circuit, but they are all probably moving on to their own projects. I guess I will never get to see Pacific Theme live, that sucks.
I do like your picks cheez (minus the Pumpkins because I have never seen a good live show of theirs, too much Corgan whining)

Here's my list:
1. Wilco 2. Sufjan Stevens 3. The Arcade Fire 4. Of Montreal (late night) 5. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists 6. The Hold Steady 7. The Postal Service 8. Spoon 9. Feist 10. Daft Punk (not gonna happen, but would be so awesome)
Now that I've seen Radiohead, I really don't care who's the headliner. That said, someone like The Who or David Bowie would be pretty cool. Is Wilco big enough for a headliner slot?
