Jack White is the one piece I will say is as close to guaranteed as we can get.
While I really hope you are right, I wouldn't go that far. The Superjam has always been jamband members. Hopefully this year will be different, but i doubt it. I would love to see Jack White do it, and I am sure if he asked they would let him. I would not be surprised to see something with Warren or Trey, but I don't really see Jack playing it, for whatever reason.

Jack white jams just as much as Warren or Trey just with a different sound.
I didn't say he didn't jam. I just said it has always been a jamband thing for the superjam, so I see Warren/Trey as more of a possibility than Jack White. I prefer the White Stripes just as much as Gov't Mule and more than what Trey is doing now.
Jack White is a nasty guitarist, and I do hope he is in the superjam, I just really doubt it.

I just want to throw this out there and hope to sweet god that some higher power notices it.
How does this sound.
Tom Morello, Ben Harper or Black Thought, Victor Wooten or Les, and Questlove doing one of the most amazing albums of all time. Jimi Hendrixs Band Of Gypsies.
I honestly think that would be the greatest thing Ive ever seen in concert.
I think Morello could pull off Machine Gun like nobody else today. Harper would work on vocals, but Black Thought from The Roots would aswell. Hell, almosy anyone (NO TREY!!) there could do the vocals.

am i alone in not liking the superjam being a surprise? especially last year when it was basically an unannounced band not a super jam in the way it was usually. i guess its fun. but even though i enjoyed the hell out the night tripper show, if i had known that phil lesh was doing casey jones and going down the road feeling bad with trey, mike, and the duo my ass would have been there.

I just expect the Superjam to be awesome, so i try to attend, unless one of my must sees is on against them. That being said, last year's superjam, while awesome, was a copout on bonnaroo's part. To me a superjam is supposed to be just that a jam session, not a preconcieved band, that was already going to be touring together. I am more for a one off thing that you could only see at Bonnaroo.

Wow, I just had a thought. Add the Mars Volta please!!! Then we could have Cedric fronting the Zeppelin goodness!!!!
Im just gonna keep giving you karma as long as I can. People always think Im nuts for the TMV/Zep comparison. Cmon!!! Weird time signatures, explosive sound, wtf is wrong with that guys voice, wtf kind of noise is that guitar making. I can go on and on.
I say Superjam should be a contest betweem Cedric a Geddy Lee to see who can shatter a disco ball vocally first. Free Bonnaroo ear plugs.

Listen to Buckethead play Machine Gun to be truly blown away
I have, and indeed. I don't know. I think much more highly of Buckethead as a guitarist than Morello, but for some reason I think Tom could do a better job. Im not a huge fan of his music or RATMs, but i remember hearing about him being totally apesh*t over Hendrix.

Ok guys, my vision for superjam is a good possibility and would be freakin awesome. I'd like to see Claypool, in some form or another, get added to the list. With Tool being there, a Carey, Claypool, Adrian Belew power trio superjam wouldn't be too far fetched. Belew came out with Primus in 04, played two or three songs. They did a couple songs together on one of Belew's later cuts, Side Three i think. Of course Morello can come out for a few. This jam would be the mind f**ker of all time!!!
Oh ya, and Claypool wouldn't sing....

I think it'd be cool to get all the bluegrass bands up there for a late night extended bluegrass superjam, if you got Railroad earth, Old Crow Medicine Show, Uncle Earl, Charlie Louvin, some Gillian Welch, and Nickel Creek when they add on, you would have a pretty badass honky tonk lineup there....it'll never happen, but that'd be fun to see!

Danny Carey would blow it out. Him and Les together would be mind-blowing. Hell... I'll go up there and play guitar and it would sound killer with those two behind me.

The more I think about it the more I think we might be in for a little taste of Pink Floyd. Even just a song or two. We all know Les loves doing PF songs. I also believe Maynard has a history of doing Floyd covers with both Tool and other bands.
Id really love to see something epic out of Superjam this year. Something that people will hear about and think "those folks are lucky to have seen that". Something youre not going to see anywhere else. I enjoyed SJ last year, but it just didnt cut it for me. The Trey, Mike and Phil bit was nice. It wasnt exclusive to us though.

i agree. this year has the potential to be a great year for the superjam. i hope it doesn't just disintegrate to an assortment of guys from the jam bands in the lineup like last years superjam and masquerade party band. that's nice and all, but not too exciting.
