So who else is pumped about Clutch? Normally I am a jam based fan but I love these guys and have for about a decade. If you are new to Clutch I would recommend checking out anything from Elephant Riders as well as Blast Tyrant and Robot Hive/Exodus. I think its all great but these may be easier on new listeners. Any other must listens anyone? Thoughts? I think people are going to be pleasantly suprised with these guys.
I saw them in charlotte back in 96, before the show my buddies, clutch and I all ate at Hardees across the street from the venue. They are so down to earth
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

i kind of doubt we see any moshing really. at least i hope not. clutch is lately going for that southern stoner kinda rock and steering away from metal more and more especially the vocals. Who knows though......Ill be right up front either way :-)
definitely excited for this. while at other venues i would certainly be inclined to mosh, i highly doubt ill be in the mood for it at 'roo. just doesn't strike me as the right vibe for it.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

Haha I'm still blown away that Clutch is going to be at 'Roo...it's kind of uncanny...but damn they are good at what they do. They toss together a bunch of hard styles from Zeppelin influenced stuff to Faith No More esque stuff to Tool-ish stuff to just straight up rock and roll. It's pretty heavy by 'Roo's standards for sure. I would suggest their self-titled album as a good way to judge whether they are worth your time or not.

I would suggest the following albums....Elephant Riders, Robot Hive/Exodus, and Blast Tyrant. Their self titled album is kick ass but a little heavier than the rest.

i would suggest Jam Room.....i can not wait for clutch!...there will not be any conflicts for me, it doesnt matter who it is, i will be front and center for clutch!

i've also been sayin since my first roo (04) that Clutch should be there, and alas....they have arrived.
edit: now we need william elliott whitmore to open for them (kinda like saul williams> the mars volta 2005)
2nd edit: wow, alot of you don't know clutch, it makes me excited to know by the time June comes around they will be greeted with open arms. Jus' give em a chance, and they'll win your heart!! ;D

Please dear little Baby Jesus, up in Heaven, oh please oh please put Clutch on either Thursday night or daytime Friday. Little Lord Baby Jesus, you know how bad I wanna see the Police for the first time....and oh Merciful Little Baby Jesus, I beggeth of you not to put Clutch on Saturday, because you know Little Baby Jesus that I will be camped out on the mainstage all day Saturday, sacrificing all other bands in thine name in order to see The Poe-lice. So please don't make Clutch one of the sacrificial lambs of that most righteous day, little Lord Baby Jesus.... I beggeth of thee...... I promise to be gentle in the mosh pit, if your will should see to it that Clutch is allowed to be viewed on any day other then Saturday. (Come to think of it little Baby Jesus....Friday would just be a swell day to add Clutch, since Tool is probably playing that night......you could get everyone's angst and aggression out in one harmonious moshful day .) AMEN.

I have been listening to Clutch since the self titled album came out (1995-96?), so I am a big fan. Really surprised, but happy to see Bonnaroo add a heavier rock band like them. But they definantly have a 'jam' vibe;....just a very heavy one. After adding Tool, Wolfmother, and Clutch, I wouldn't be surprised anymore if Bonnaroo added Isis or Queens of the Stone Age (next year?).

^^^ really hope we dont see any moshing. i love clutch and love tool and will be at both but the whole moshing deal is a little sophomoric
I'm sure it will be well behaved. Those of us who are going to Bonnaroo for the first time know the 'vibe' of Bonnaroo is very laid back and 'hippie-esque', and I certainly respect that. Not only do I respect that, but I fully plan on embracing it while there! Even though I mainly listen to classic/alternative rock, I have also been to several Ozzfests and hard alternative rock concerts where I have moshed (NIN, Sabbath, Soundgarden, etc.), but that has its right place and right crowd. I don't think that Tool, Wolfmother, or Clutch's sets are going to turn into 'violent moshpits', like the type you would encounter at Ozzfest. Probably more bouncy, playful moshpits (if any), kinda like a Pearl Jam or Smashing Pumpkins show in the early 90sUnlike the upcoming Rage Against the Machine show at Coachella, think the 'rock' audience members at Bonnaroo will be all good and stay on a positive vibe, with or without moshpits.

I'm new to Clutch but have heard the name before. XM radio has been playing one of their songs (Electric Worry) of the new album and I most definately gotta get some of that!! I see them on the Which stage Saturday with me in the middle of it all...

i too have been a long time clutch fan...from back in the mid 90's. I listened to a lot of heavier stuff back then and have let most of it fall to the wayside since then (ive been to an ozzfest or 2 back in the day as well) but Clutch has remained one of my favorite bands and really the only band from back then that i still listen to. karma to you whitezenyattadays for being a fellow long time fan!

mmm, well after reading the show review I am not so confused about them being at Roo. I had listened to them in the late 90's but have not in almost 10 years. I remember them being a hard rock/metal band so I was confused about the add. Sounds like they deserve to be there, I will try to catch some of the set I think!

ABSOLUTELY they deserve to be there. their music is like wine....it gets better with age. seriously their newer stuff is great! Beale Street, Robot Hive/Exodus, Blast Tyrant...so PUMPED....also missed em last night in st louis......was totally gonna go but decided to save the $......made the same decision about widespread as they are playin in my town in a week or 2....ill just hold out for roo i guess
