According to the "Les Not Booked to Play Bonnaroo" thread on the Bull Board of the Primus website, Les Claypool is rumoured to skip Bonnaroo this year. Anyone know anything about this?

I read that too, I think the person who posted that just kinda threw it out there. I hope its a false rumor though.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
he will be there. at all good he went on a rant about how he only really enjoyed playing festivals if ween or the flaming lips were there so i doubt hed miss this one

The most important part of that thread is the fact that Jimbo stated that rumor. I wasnt let down when I saw the thread, I wasnt even let down when I read the rumor. I was let down when I saw that it was Jimbo who posted it. For those who dont know, Jimbo is one of the big-time Les faithfulls. Most of the audience recordings floating around over the past 3-4 years are due to him and his relationship with Les. Im sure hes done more recordings than that, but the vast majority of shows recently have been him.
This is really sad for me. Who knows, maybe Les is putting this stuff out there to shock people with a Primus announcement or something of that nature. If he plays Waka and skips Roo Ill almost be mad at him.

When I heard that, I about pissed my pants.
After I heard about that Ive looked at his taste in music a little differently. I know alot of stuff Les likes and I guess the FLips never crossed my mind. Im into Ween, but I've had a very large love affair with the FLips for most of my natural life.
As if anything could make me love this guy more than him being a constant collaborator with the man of men, Mr. Tom Waits.
I think theres a much better chance of Les being there, but if Waits is one of the second round announcements Les will be there for sure.

But it's not really up to any artists whether they are there or not unless SF/AC asks them to come. Correct? I don't think we can be angry at artists without knowing whether they turned down roo or were not invited in the first place.

It seems to me like Claypool has an open invitation. He's not only unbelievably talented and diverse but, he's consistently a crowd favorite. If he wants to be there, he will be. If he skips Roo this year, i'll be bummed....but I could never be mad at him.

AC/SF would never not invite Les Claypool, as he has been somewhat of a 'Roo Ambassador always doing interviews and playing multiple shows a couple of years.
oatmealschnappz is right, the invitation for Claypool at Roo will always be wide open.

i'm hoping for primus latengiht!
with you 100% on that one.
I've said this a dozen times, and Ill say it once more. I just cannot see Les playing Waka and skipping Roo. Thats like telling your best friend you where in the neighborhood, saw his car there and didnt stop to say hi.
At this point Im expecting a big announcement, not no announcement. Primus, Bonnaroo, Some new tunes?
