Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Girl Talk His early stuff is noise rock, but his newer stuff is all Top 40 Dance Hits. I just saw him in Cleveland, OH and it's pretty much a giant, sweaty, drunken, two hour dance party. So, rather than list songs, I'll say check out YouTube footage of his live shows and listen to the entire album Night Ripper from front to back. Here's some links to the YouTube stuff:

You'd be better off downloading a show of theirs, and probably a new one with jimmy herring. A few studio songs dont really give you an idea of widespread. I listen to them from time to time, and still dont know any song names.
Franz Ferdinand: - The Dark of the Matinee (s/t) - 40 (s/t) - Jacqueline (s/t) - Walk Away (You Could Have it so Much Better) - You're the Reason I'm Leaving (You Could Have it so Much Better)
You're going to enjoy this set more than you think.
Your Touch (Magic Potion) (new single) Hard Row (Thickfreakness) When the Lights Go Out (Rubber Factory) 10 A.M. Automatic (Rubber Factory) Strange Desire (Magic Potion) Just Couldn't Tie Me Down (Rubber Factory) No Fun (Stooges cover) (Live in Sydney '05)
Rubber Factory is my favorite album, but the new Magic Potion is good too.
She's only got one album out and I'm not aware of any live-show only songs (I'm sure there are some, but yeah). So....pretty much anything off her album (it's called Alright, Still). Her lyrics are absolutely hilarious.
Personally I'll recommend: - Alfie - Knock 'em Out - LDN - Everything's Wonderful - Not Big
Forget anything you've heard about him. That would include his age, his too-Britishness, his divorce, his gloominess, his old-folkie status. Either it's not true or it's irrelevant.
None of his studio albums do him justice, though all have their merits and the last three are superb. Live albums are available via www.richardthompson-music.com. (Do check out the mp3 of "Dad's Gonna Kill Me.")
He'll be touring with a band--bassist Danny Thompson (Pentangle and lots of other people), drummer Michael Jerome (Pleasure Club, Blind Boys of Alabama), and multi-instrumentalist Pete Zorn (Arizona Smoke Revue)--which means an emphasis on the rockier stuff.
That said:
--Gethsemane --Shoot Out the Lights (any live version) --Ghosts in the Wind --Dad's Gonna Kill Me (see above) --1952 Vincent Black Lightning (I've seen him hundreds of times and this is his "hit," so this is where I usually take a pee break! But everyone else loves it) --Cooksferry Queen

Manu Chao (some of these songs are Mano Negra, but he plays them too) -Mala Vida -Machine Gun -Clandestino -Machine Gun -Minha Galera -Blood and Fire -Rumba De Barcelona -King Kong Five
There are a bunch of others, but these are some of the best.
Regina Spektor- Fidelity Us Better Samson Just go to ReginaSpektor.com, or whatever the site is that they list on Bonnaroo.com, and you can listen to all her albums for free! Just click on Music, and then listen to "Begin to Hope"
As for Widespread, d/l the 12/31/06 show from Phillips and listen to the second and third sets in detail, also their show from roo Sunday in '05 when Herbie Hancock sat in on "You Should Be Glad" is pretty sick. 4/20/02, Mikey's last year, also a great show.

Can we activate this one again --- I would love to burn some CDs with music from the performers I'm not familiar with. This is a great start. Anymore suggestions based on the new artists added to the roster? I'll have a 16 hour drive from MA to TN, so I have plenty of time to become a fan of all the performers! Thanks Roo Crew.
I'm quite a big fan of the flaming lips, and I have a decent amount of out of print stuff they made. Besides stuff on their album, here's what I think people should take a listen to:
1. The Gold in the Mountain of our Madness 2. Jets (Cupid's Kiss vs. the Psyche of Death) 3. Enthusiasm for Life Defeats Internal, Existential Fear (Progressive Dixieland Mix 2) 4. You've Got to Hold On 5. Blow Job
The last one is a very early demo of theirs, whereas the rest are more from their recent releases. These are probably tough to find, and I know that the Flaming Lips' official forum allows this kind of stuff up, so I'll put these on here for your enjoyment.
If any moderator or admin does not feel comfortable with me putting this stuff up here I will remove all traces of it.
Surf Medley (Semi-Crazy) Sugarfoot Rag (Junior High) Catfish & Collard Greens (Mixed Bag) Guit-Steel Blues (Guit With It) Highway Patrol (Guit With It)
I could list many others I like better than that last one, but I include it because he will play it - I've never seen a show where he didn't. And like so many others, his studio work doesn't do him justice; check him out at 'roo if you can...his speed and precision on his custom-made 'guit-steel' will blow you away!
i know ben harper has been done, but i have to put some off of his older stuff thats terrific: Walk Away (Welcome to the Cruel World) I'll Rise (Cruel World) I Shall Not Walk Alone (The Will to Live) Glory and Consequence (The Will to Live) Please Bleed (Burn to Shine) Alone (Burn to Shine) With My own Two Hands (Diamonds on the inside)

Cool Some good intros for these bands.
The Flaming Lips- Race For The Prize Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (Part 1) A Spoonful Weighs A Ton The Gash Do You Realize My Cosmic Autumn Rebellion
Since this person decided to post three, not one, I'll throw in my two cents for the Lips.
Mainly older stuff, if you want new, listen to the person I quoted.
"Jesus Shootin' Heroin" from Hear It Is (1986) "Kim's Watermelon Gun" from Clouds Taste Metallic (1995) "When Yer Twenty-Two" from Transmissions from the Satellite Heart (1993) "Chrome Plated Suicide" from Telepathic Surgery (1989)
And my personal favorite..........
"God Walks Among Us Now - Jesus Song No. 6" from In a Priest Driven Ambulance (1990)
NOW, they most likely won't play any of these songs live this coming Roo, but if you want to know what started the Extravaganza and all it's craziness, check these out once you settle into the new style (if you're a newbie, because these songs might be too intense).
