Just wanted to take a thread to be thankful for Keller being at bonnaroo this year, he's another artist we haven't really talked about, I know he is high on my list of priorities.
Keller always puts on one of the best shows of the weekend, certainly a 'roo favorite. His set in '05 was amazing, probably the high point of that year for me. As I recall, by the time Jack Johnson's set was over, Keller's show was jam packed, certainly one of the most crowded tent shows I've seen at bonnaroo.
So I guess this is a roll call, who else plans on hitting up K-dub?
I'm excited to see him with with a full band backing him; I've seen him loop, I've seen him acoustic, this should be wild!
Also, while I've got you, who else has gotten "Dream"? I love it.

Keller Williams real estate must me huge, I started noticing those around here a year or 2 back. A wine bar I work at has a pinot noir called Keller Estate, and I was sure that one day I would accidentally call it Keller Williams Estate to some wine snob customer, luckily a new guy I was working with said it to some one accidentally, so I can give him sh#t instead.
Yes i've heard keller a couple times tell people to quit takin' those signs down, he said he was gettin heat! lol. that real estate company is all over the southeast..wonder who came first.
I haven't seen Keller at the Roo the past few times, but I have seen him on several occasions outside of it. I have always said he would sound better with a band behind him. He is extremely talented, but limited in the fact that sometimes he must loop his music to make it sound "full." The first time I saw him, he opened for SCI here in Memphis in 98, and he blew me away. I was very impressed at how versatile he was on the 12 string. He joined the full band later that night, and it was probably the best part of the show. I've seen him a few times with SCI since then, and it's always fun, though SCI isn't really my cup of tea. I've always wondered how far Keller could actually go if he did put a rhythm section behind him. Should be an interesting set, I'll definitely be checking it out.
i would love to get the full loop show as i have never seen keller play, but i will not miss a chance to see him live.have several shows by him and love the music.and the damn real estate company must be big statrted popping up here 2 years ago

I've seen Keller several times at Smilefest (near the Asheville, NC area), and at multiple shows in Asheville, and also in Boone, NC. I'll go anytime he's playing anywhere nearby.
He's a fantastic musician/songwriter, and he also does weird/trippy/fun covers of songs you wouldn't expect. Sometimes he plays in a trio billed as "Keller and the Keels," with flatpicking legend Larry Keel & his lovely wife Jenny on standup bass. Great stuff. Check out their CD called "Grass." Also, Keller's live double disc "Stage" is incredible.
DO NOT miss Keller, he's always amazing, you'll have a blast!
I remember being stumbling drunk after jack in 05 and wandering over to catch the end of Keller's set, he was playing Ghostbusters/I want a new drug and I starting yelling "I love Huey Lewis", my friends dragged me away.... Ahh memories

I love Keller, but there's too many great bands that I have to worry about before him. If he conflicts with Damien, Ben Harper, John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, The Lips, Michael Franti or Gillian Welch....then I probably won't be seeing him.

They can't put SCI against Keller; aside from the fact that Keller will almost certainly join SCI on stage for a little incident, Keith Moseley is the bassist for SCI and also the 'M' in WMD'S, so they can't possibly overlap.

Yeah, I know, I was just trying to think of the most extreme in bands who should not be playing at the same time.

XM radio's XMCafe channel has been highlighting the Left Stage CD of Keller's Stage album the last few days. I happened to tune in right when he started (serendipity, as he's on my "who's this?" list of Bonnaroo artists to check out). Incredible! I can't imagine what that must be like live! I''m guessing he does all that by looping tracks on the fly? Thomas Dolby does something similar in his solo concert tour this past year.
In case you haven't guessed, yes, I'll be there as well...
i will be there for sure. wouldnt miss it. certainly not with alot of the contirbutors to the new album being at roo too. i cant wait to check him out with the wmds... normally id think about skipping it to becasue hes at gratefulfest a couple of weeks later but there is no way im skipping the roo show.
and also im up in michigan and keller is selling houses left and right up here too.
i dont know for sure. it just says keller on the ledges website and on kellers website it dosent have gratefulfest listed yet.. and on his website it has his tour dates and only summercamp and bonnaroo are listed as having the wmds. all the rest just say keller. even 10klf has only keller. so looks like it might just be him. but he will have plenty of great musicians to collab with if the wmds arent there.
Besides SCI both Bob Weir and Michael Franti play on Keller's new CD. I'd especially like to hear 'Cadillac' live! When Keller played roo with the Keels it was one of the few shows all weekend that we saw from start to finish.
WMD'S – Keller Williams with Keith Moseley on bass (The String Cheese Incident), Gibb Droll on guitar (Marc Broussard), and Jeff Sipe on drums (Aquarium Rescue Unit, Trey Anastasio, Susan Tedeschi, Phil Lesh)
If heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive at the pearly gates? NUDE BOWLING TO THE LEFT AND CLOUD SURFING TO THE RIGHT....keller williams
Here is aslo what keller said about those Keller Williams sign just in case anyone was planning on bringing the signs:
How do you feel about the Keller Williams Real Estate: I FEEL THAT ITS A BIZARRE COINCIDENCE AND IT WAS FUNNY THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THAT I GOT MUDDY FOR SALE SIGNS BROUGHT TO ME AT MY SHOWS BUT, IT GOT OLD. SO, NO MORE KELLER WILLIAMS REALTY SIGNS PLEASE! AND, I WISH THEY WOULD GIVE ME THEIR WEBSITE...... keller williams.
Have seen K-dub numerous times at various venues and every time he's been to 'roo and 6 other times with SCI. You think I'd miss him WMD'in it up as I have wanted him to play behind his own band for a long time.
The Answer to that question would be HEEELLLLLLLL NO!
It's gonna be boogie time for all the freaky people.
