Will somebody fill me in on this a little? I'm not familiar with Vegoose non-artist-additions artist additions. Did they say "more artists will be announced in the weeks to come" (like the B'roo initial announcement) and then fail to deliver? Or did everybody expect additions and then get disappointed?

yep they said for weeks and weeks on the website/emails "more artists to be announced!" and then they mysteriously took it down and pretended it was never there
i think it was because of lagging ticket sales though, there were a few cost cutting measures made as the festival got closer (like plain looking tickets, selling single day passes toward the end, omitting THE main stage inside the stadium altogether, etc...)
but we're DEFINITELY not lagging in the sales department for bonnaroo, so i don't think it'll be the same thing. was just kind of weird.
p.s. don't get me wrong, i had a blast at vegoose, but i was definitely expecting more bands (mostly because they said they were coming!)
yup i could use an artist addition here real soon.
yeah one that will tell me i'm gonna dance my ass off and that modest mouse will be there...listenin' to 'dashboard' right now and that song just makes me freakin' dance!!!

modest mouse and cake addition would be make very happy but i'd take a black eyed peas and britney spears addition at this point.........just give us something!

any of these would be fantastic additions (and quite possible), no?
To answer your first question, in 2004, Bonnaroo didn't announce an additional round until March 23rd. So this long a wait is not without precedent.
Here's a tip. If you here about Superfly making a major non-Roo related announcement (a la Jazzfest late night announcement last week), chances are you're not getting a Roo annoucement that week.
As for the additions, I'm not sure. I like Modest Mouse and Explosions studio stuff, but have heard pretty mixed things about them live. Never heard of Do Make Say Think. And Atmosphere would be a solid if unlikely addition (only one group is returning from last year).

I saw Modest Mouse 2 years ago in VA and they are alot different live, alot more raw, but its not a bad change, just different. and I'm going to see Explosions this thursday in Carrboro so idk I'll se how they are live.

Do Make Say Think is an instrumental band from Canada. Its basically modest mouse witout singing and more emotional. i reccomend any song from the cd, "Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn"

^ im down, but just know that bonnaroo myspace wont do you any good...that guy is just an intern and he doesnt know any better than we do. i talked to him already. but if everyone wants to bombard bonnaroo.com with email im down hahah
Going through my old emails, i found what dates stuff happened on. Maybe we can learn from the past.
Artist additions round 1: 2/9/06 Artist additions round 2: 2/10/06 Artist additions round 3: 3/2/06 Artist additions round 4: 3/30/06 Artist additions round 5: 4/19/06
Hmmm so going by what the past is telling us we should already have had 3 announcements...or if we account for the later schedule we should be due for #2 really soon
I wonder if somethings wrong. This seems VERY fishy to me. There has to be a good explanation to why they haven't announced anything. Maybe that initial lineup leak included some of our additions and since we found them they just went ahead and put them in the official initial lineup. Man I also forgot how late they announce the schedule. I'm going to be all over the place that week. I'm moving to a new apt. and also flying to memphis to visit my family. What busy week that will be!!!!!

I don't care to get in on a mass email, but karma for you zachattack because your handle reminded me of saved by the bell. Memories of SBTB are always a day brightener.
And I say thumbs down to the dark clouds mucking up this thread and others about additions. My approach is be happy about the schedule as it is and think of any additions as gravy. Would the schedule as it is right now be so bad? Smile everyone.

Can someone tell me why My Morning Jacket is not a possibility of an addition? I know their was an e-mail, but they could have been lying due to Bonnaroo not wanting it announced yet. That is, if it were true, which I pray it is.
