Just to play devil's advocate, they might just have been talking about cafe acts. I do think we will get more (real) additions, but I think they will be in a much more limited capacity than years past. Superfly blew their load on the initial announcement.

I'm pretty confidant that Jesse Sykes will be in a tent. And I'm almost absolutely sure that the Whigs will be. I think there's at least 1 or 2 tent/stage rounds before the cafe announcement.

If memory serves, we've always gotten the full schedule in late May, so that really only leaves 2 months to fit in any artist additions. Maybe it'll be the same amount we're used to per round, but just fewer rounds.

or fewer additions with more bands . By my count there are 68 maybes 69 artists currently. AC/superfly said their would be 100 bands this year so by my count that leaves us with about 30 additional acts. Im not sure if they were counting cafe performers in that 100 though. im so excited already, somtimes when im talkin about roo w/ someone i twitch. Can i hear an Amen to that so i dont feel like a tweaker.

My thought is we are probably only getting 10-15 more stage/tent additions. The thing is, I have a feeling these will occur in 2-3 groups of 5 or so STRONG additions of acts with good name recognition. It seems to me that the additions might be more useful marketing tools with 5 or 6 bigger names in each group spread out over the next three months to continually reignite buzz. If they can do that 3 times before Roo, they WILL sell out for sure. They might even do it by genre. Indie, jam, hip hop, etc. (Not that I'm stuck on genres, but it's good to know who you are selling to. Five indie acts may be a more attractive package to someone then one indie act, one jam act, one country, etc.) Langerado added MMJ, The New Pornographers, and I believe Cat Power all at once, and that's what sold me. (Note: I saw a lot of jam acts too, but for some reason, the indie additions were the seller for me; It could be another group here, but I'm just saying - adding en masse might be more effective).

Not definatly, someone on his messageboard said he was out. I'm not gonna believe that until after roo though, because if anyone would make a suprise sit in, it'd be les.

^^^Don't forget Grace Potter & the Nocturnals.
You're right, I should note my evidence as well:
The Whigs were confirmed by someone on this board, via their website (I believe).
Little Feat have some other festival dates, and really I just think they would be a cool add, plus we are lacking in the "older" artists.
RR is inevitable, he's been telling crowds he will be there, and it just wouldn't be the same without him. Over on his messageboard, Kim (a woman who works for Robert's booking agent) said to expect them to "announce new tour dates soon - exciting ones!"
It has been nearly 6 weeks since the initial line up, I figure something ought to come soon.

I'm was really hopeful about Les, but according to a lot of his hard-core follwers/ tapers say he will not be there. This really bums me out. His shows and style of music is one of the things I think of when someone says "Bonnaroo". It's still possible, but I wouldn't count on it. A suprise act like the Superjam could be a place where he would show, or a quick set with Gabby LaLa like he did when he had family matters to tend to in 2005, or a song with Galactic like he did in 2002. I hope he shows.
I believe this might be the week. That V-Fest announcement is no small joke to Bonnaroo. Before, Bonnaroo was sort of the only game in town festival wise that had the Police. Now you have a 2 day festival with less time committment and arguably bigger supporting headlining acts in the Smashing Pumpkins & Beasties Boys occuring in a major metropolitan area. Whatever Superfly has up its sleeve, now would be a good time to wow undecideds with a headline grabbing addition. My guess is they have one addition like that to use and they've been holding back on it until the timing was just right.

This week is that time.
Agreed! I went to Virgin last year, it was a pretty good time, only one day though, certainly no Bonnaroo. This year, however, it is two days and they have even bigger names. I know a lot of people from the mid-east who were considering going to Bonnaroo for the primary reason of The Police. Now that Virgin has the Police, I'm hearing some of my friends say that they might just go to Virgin (they argue that is would be considerably cheaper and less of a drive, plus we could all go home and take showers). Roo needs something else remind these clowns why they should drive halfway across the country.
I was going to say that maybe they were waiting for spring, but the first day was last wednesday, maybe they were waiting for the first week of spring... come on PFunk and UM
