Eastern Time? I guess it depends on cable provider.... I'm watching the Killers now. Never been a fan, but the first song was ok, and they sound pretty good so...I'm still not a fan! lol
Never heard spoon's music before, but caught this last night. What is special about them... at all? They seemed to rely solely on the songwriting, as there was no noteworthy instrumentalism at all, and the strength of the songs was not enough to be engaging. Plus that was the lamest M. Ward guest appearance ever. Mediocre vocals, lack of ability to play instruments, uninteresting songwriting = hit indie act? ???

Spoon certainly doesn't put on a shock and awe kind of show. And the M. Ward appearance was probably just to get him on TV, because I agreee it wasn't noteworthy. However, I thought the musicianship was quality. Their live sound was spot on with their studio sound, but it wasn't just a re-creation. Daniel Britts lyrics are the shit, and his voice sounded great live. They are a chill, groovy band. Perfect for the afternoon set I envision seeing them play....
Chill, I agree with, Groovy as well. Most songs had a kind of rhythmic swagger that I liked. It just wasn't engaging enough to get me excited about seeing them at bonnaroo...

My best recomendation for enjoying their set at Roo, check out a couple of albums. Gimme Fiction is the most recent, but Girls Can Tell is just as good if not better. Maybe if you were more familiar you'd dig it. They really are great songs/ If that doen't work, then don't sweat it. There is no such thing as wasting your time at Roo.

I also wouldnt judge any band by their performance for the acl tv slot. I've seen several bands that have put on shotty shows there, but are indeed quite good. Thats just a weird venue, and i think spoons show would be a lot better at bonnaroo.
