There is going to be a massive surge of people after the mule show, but as long as it is loud, I have no need to be anywhere near up front, I like some dancing room anyway.
I agree, I see no point of being in the front row to see some dude play with a laptop...I'll be perfectly fine dancing in the back of the tent having glowstick wars.
while i love the mule, it's an easy choice for me. warren comes through buffalo about twice a year plus you know he's gonna be popping up all over the place over the weekend like usual. Sasha/Dig comes to buffalo about NEVER. loved sasha's set last year, actually got more and more energized as his set went on, then it's over and the sun is already blasting down and i'm like i'm supposed to get some sleep now?
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
I would be shocked if Girl Talk filled 90 minutes. I think 45-60 minutes is more his time frame.
I totally agree. This whole time i've been saying that theres really no reason for Girl Talk to get a huge slot, its just a guy and his laptop, and while its sweet music, its just a guy and his laptop... Also, from what i've gathered when he plays clubs he usually just has like a 2 hour total set.
Wow thats a bold statement to say just a guy and his laptop.....if it were that easy there be a million and a half big name djs. BT, quite easily one of the largest trance Djs has converted to a laptop because it travels easier and its alot easier to carry thousands of samples on a laptop than a crate of thousands of records. If you can use just your computer and produce a mix anywhere close to what he does I will eat my words. I could very easily say its just Warren again for the 800th time with his guitar...being someone who is starting out on a guitar and a laptop/turntables for the first time I would in no way downplay one for the other. To each their own and many will prefer Mule to Girl Talk/S&DW but like the person above me said you get 50 opportunities to Mule a year, Im at Bonnaroo to experience different things I cant normally experience. And yes most Djs do play only 2 hour sets in clubs.they dont have the luxury of mxiing until the sun goes up. At least not here in Pittsburgh the clubs close at 2
When I used to see Sasha & Digweed at Twilo in NYC they would spin from about 10pm till at least 7 or 8am. I was surprised when Sasha only spun a two hour set last year. In my opinion, if they do indeed put Girl Talk in front of Sasha & Digweed in the same tent, it should go Girl Talk from midnight to 1am then Sasha & Digweed from 1am to 6am.

Ah man. I totally agree. Girl Talk will be a great warm-up for Sasha and Digweed. I don't think people are really quite recognizing how epic it is that Sasha and Digweed are going to be spinning together until the sun comes up... this is the stuff trance dreams are made of!

I never said he wasnt talented, but thanks for reading. I said i like his stuff, but watching someone with a laptop at roo is kinda a waste i think when itd be a better show in a club. I dont come to bonnaroo to just dance, if i wanted to do that i'd go to a club. He's talented, and his musics good, but i'd take Mule's special set any day of the week, and i think girl talk will be pretty dead if he's up against mule.

My friend who was into techno a few years ago used to talways talk about techno, he was big into digweed and would come back with posters of places he played at for like $40 a head. And I've learned much about Sasha over the past year by virtue of last year's 'roo.
Getting to the point: I don't really follow techno much, but yeah, I do realize that this is a big deal.

I personaly can't wait for the S&DW set! I saw them back in '97 and it was one of the funnest, trippiest shows i've ever been to. I skipped Sasha last year and after hearing everyone "rave" about it, i've been kicking myself.

I really hope Sasha and Digweed play past Mule, which they should. In 05' i didnt see anyone spin, and this is definatly something i dont want to miss.
Yeah I definitely can't wait to get into some late night spinnin this year. I have'nt had many chances to have an experience like that. And to discover the dj world at bonnaroo i think would be the best way to do it.

hate on house music all you want, but you can feel the vibe of that place just watchin the video. most likely wont be any trance played, sasha is no longer a trance dj. Digweed is more electro these days.
i dunno bro, while i'm not that into labels for music genres, i would definitely say sasha played a very fair amount of what i'd consider 'trance' tracks last year, and i can't imagine he'd make a huge departure from the types of tracks he & digweed play this year.

Sasha & Digweed is one of the few sets that i'm not missing for anything.
Got into Sasha in the rave seen around 2000, 2001. Tracks like Xpander ripping through Bonnaroo monitors on a late, mid-summer Tennessee night is crutial!
Still way excited about this. I was wondering how the light show is. I know a few of you have been the past couple years, is it pretty much epic? and what tent was it in last year?

sasha was one of my highlights last year, it was a bumpin good time. I'm sad i couldn't find any recordings. be sure to bring plenty of water, beer, and anything else.

DO not, I repeat Do not miss Sasha and John Digweed performing together live. It is not some trance dj type of set, with the proper mindset they can change the way you view music. Personally I have seen them 5-6 times since '95 and each time they had progressed into to somethong better.
I loved sasha's set last year it made the night way over the top......
this year me and my rooo crew are thinking about making some crazy costumes to dance all night in....anybody else up for it? we would like to get a big group of ppl to join us....msg me and maybe we can set something up as the date gets closer
