I would love to see them added onto to the line up for this year's Roo. I saw em back in November last year with GHostface Killah and Rhymefest and all three of them were awesome but especially Tribe. I think they got the right vibe for Roo and you can definitely get down to their sh!t. Anybody else see em on their recent tour?
yeah, ghostface is probably my favorite rapper out right now. but tribe was the first rap band i got into, plus, they were some of the pioneers of hip hop so its part sentimental but im up to see either of em. Maxine by ghostface is absolutely amazing to those of you who need a taste of him.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things
Not to be that guy, but I saw them on their last tour at the Tabernacle, and it was the worst of the three shows of theirs that I had seen. It just wasn't as hyped as the other times that I saw them. Maybe the sound had to do with it because you could just barely hear the vocals. It was funny though, because Puffy came on during the encore, but just sat there in this big puffy silver jacket, and then walked off after Award Tour.
Anyways, even though I say that I was not too happy with their last show, it would be great if they were added, and Low End Theory is one of the best hip-hop albums ever.
Come on Superfly, we know that you got some sort of hip-hop in your back pocket. No time like tomorrow, to unleash the fury.
heh, i loved that show (due to a chocolate enhancement) so it was pretty hard not to have a great time and the tribe jsut made it better but i do agree, the soudn coulda used some work.
I gotta say I'd rather see Tribe Called Quest than Wu-Tang. Also, bring on Talib Kweli, Eric B., or Rakim (preferably both.. but...that's not gonna happen.)
Phife Dawg passed away last night. Such sad news, Tribe was one of the greatest hip hop groups of all time.
This man brought a lot of joy to my life. Sad I could never see them live. One of my favorite hip hop groups ever and Midnight Marauders is a top 10 hip hop album for me.

I was fortunate enough to see Tribe at SxSW in '13. It was a Samsung event I had won tickets for and I did not even know they were performing until they took the stage. I can't even describe how excited I was, especially when Phife started rapping on those classics. I had not seen him or heard about him in decades. It was so nostalgic hearing the "You on point, Phife?" line. They were definitely among my favorite acts growing up when music started getting important to me.

I also had the good fortune of seeing them in '94. They put on a great show. Very high energy. They were, without a doubt, my favorite hip hop group of all time. I revere Low End Theory. I mean REVERE. Such sad news today. ...
