Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

I've always dug Tortoise but, lately I'm becoming obsessed! I can't wait to see them! I'm really hoping for a latenight set! Maybe before STS9 or something like that.
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
Oh, God... I never have seen Tortoise before in person, but live bootlegs sound amazing, sometimes better than the recordings. I can just imagine (either) sitting under a tent chilling in the middle of the noon, or doing the same at night, goin crazy.... I can't wait.
Definitely Richard Thompson--not by any means a "smaller" act but, as others have said, possibly likely to be overlooked with such a hip 'Roo lineup. His recordings don't do him justice; he's a magnificent live performer.
Xavier Rudd is one of those people who gets buzzed about a lot, and for good reason. He was great at FloydFest a couple years ago.
Uncle Earl--I haven't seen them, but I've seen bands related to them and some of their members in other bands, and they should provide a great little bluegrassy experience.
I've heard great stuff about Martha Wainwright; a friend of mine opened for her once.

Old Crow Medicine Show: old time fiddlin' meets modern sound, they are amazing live
Junior Brown: The guy is a talented guitar player. The sounds that come out of that guitar/steel monstrosity of his will suck you in.
Xavier Rudd: you just need to see him.
These are my favorite bands that if you would happen to be walking by them at the Roo, you would probably have to go over and watch for a while just to see what the hell was going on. It helps to know beforehand instead of relying totally on fate.

I wouldn't really consider Galactic a smaller act. They're a pretty well known band and you will probably see them on one of the two stages because their following is so huge.

I don't know if Galactic is a smaller act. I think they played on the main stage in 2002. But regardless, yeah.....DON"T MISS THEM!!! I saw their two-night run at the Roxy in ATL. They put on a great show.

I dunno the rank of any of these bands cause I dont listen to the radio or MTV though I think I've heard a few of them on XM but I'm looking forward to Hot Chip, Elvis Perkins, The Decemberists, and deffinetly Cold War Kids
