I think it's Easy Dub All Stars...I'm listening to the radiodread album...all radiohead covers done in reggae style....citizen cope and others help sing! I like it ... I like it alot!!!
I also have them doing the entire dark side of the moon album in reggae...
How bout them at Bonnaroo? Help with the lack of raggae??

Yeah dude, Radiodread is amazing! I would love for the Easy Dub All Stars to come to Bonnaroo. They're probably THE best reggae cover band I've ever heard. Good call!
The Easy Star All Stars would be a nice add, but I kind of view them as only working in a late night setting. And they're not quite big enough to do a late night set at Bonnaroo. Further, Bonnaroo's sort of stayed away from cover acts in the past. I might be totally mistaken on that, but it doesn't seem to be Superfly's style. I could see them making an appearance down the road once they've really established themselves, but the label's still relatively young, and their reputation is mostly based on compiliations and not live appearances. Give them time.
they did both dub side of the moon and radiodread back to back at all good last year on the rope-a-dope stage. shit was tiiiiiiiiiight!
and as far as establishing themselves, the easy star name has been out there since the mid 90's as producers for a lot of big name reggae artisrts. the allstars are a collaboration of artists from other well known bands that have come together for these "tribute" projects, so most of them are already relatively known. they have gotten TONS of praise from various artists, fans and media outlets throughout their "short" time together for their studio and live performance. (it's been 4 years since dub side came out.) and heck, even thom yorke gave them the nod for radiodread ok computer.
i just don't see them as just a "cover" band. more like a side project of artists that get together under the easy star brand name and do great tributes to some great originals. hence, the easy star all stars.
here is a list of bands the muscians from radiodread came from: Toots and the Maytals, Citizen Cope, Morgan Heritage, Horace Andy, Sugar Minott, Frankie Paul, Israel Vibrations, The Meditations and more.
i heard the "dub side of the moon" cover album in my friends car the other day, pure genious! the beat at the beginning of "money" is made up of bonghits and coughing

My friend has that album. We used to listento it all the time in 8th grade, then he lost it. But a couple of days ago we found it in his car. It was a memorable moment.

Speaking of Allstars how about the Long Beach Dub Allstars at Bonnaroo. More Reggae and some Sublime.
Sorry dude but Long Beach Dub Allstars no longer exists. Eric Wilson started Long Beach Shortbus with out Bud the drummer for sublime and LBDA. Let also say they are by no means sublime or a sublime cover band and they are very quick to let you know it.

Ever since I first heard 'Dub Side' I imagined a late night rendition of the entire album (of course, with live rips and coughing). I wish I was able to catch that at All Good.
Also, a note to the sublime conversation, I'd love to see Badfish at roo. I've seen em once before and they DEFINITELY do bradley and the gang some justice. Some bright Tennessee sun, brews, a little "rolled up" fun, and 40 oz to freedom ... beautiful.
bad fish is playing at nelson ledges later this summer. cant wait to check them out. and i too was blown away by easy star at all good. it was an incredible show. i think this years all good thursday will be just as good if not better. dark star and ozric tentacles is gonna be insane!! easy star would be a perfect thursdaynight roo band. and i wouldnt mind having bros past mix it up withthem too. that was a great night. i wish that fog would show up at roo. that night was surreal at all good.
