That sure seems like a lot of 'schedule conflicts'. Either she's got two booking agents who don't know about each other or there's something else going on.
Yeah, it might be an issue of money or lack of interest in certain markets. If that's the case, I don't see her cancelling festival gigs that will only serve to heighten her profile stateside.

yeah, i hope she's still coming, not because i dig her (actually never heard her), but because i knwo a lot of people are really looking foward to her. i wonder why she'd do that. is she a lot bigger in england than she is in america?

Without a doubt, yes. She went double platinum in Britain. She had a #1 single and a #2 album.
She did fairly well when her album was released stateside, going #20 on the charts, but it hasn't really sold well since.
She's done considerably better in Europe though, so I wouldn't be surprised if her management perhaps takes advantage of her popularity overseas and tries to move her to as many summer fests in Britain and Europe as they can.

than do you think she cancelled cuz she didn't wanna play smaller venues?
I think she could do pretty well at smaller venues stateside. But it's akin to the problem the Dandy Warhols faced a decade ago. You can either be successful on the club circuit stateside or play major festivals and bigger venues in Europe.
When I say money, I don't just mean money you could make touring, but the promotional work it comes with it. Her management might have seen that she's selling great in Europe, not so great in America, put two and two together and realized she might be better served by cancelling a club tour to do the European festival circuit.
It's also why you don't really see Jarvis Cocker or the Kaiser Chiefs doing America this summer. Their audience is elsewhere.

Her management would win dummies of the year if they have her skip Roo. How many careers have been launched from their Roo performance? I am sure she will be there if she is healthy.

I'm sure she will still be there because she is supposed to be at Lollapalooza on August 5th (Crib's website said she was on the bill). That could be CSE whispering in their ear though but they said Iggy and Pearl Jam would be on Sunday too and they are so I dont know. I'm confident she'll stay on for her festival dates.

She's in Europe doing festivals during Lollapalooza. I'd be surprised if she ended up on Lolla's bill. Unless she flew from Norway to Japan via the U.S. Possible, just not likely imo.

I heard she did some Bush bashing at a show and got booed by the audience. Has since decided she hates the US, and asked her managers if she really needs to break into the US market, and if not, to get her the hell out and back to Europe. So that might explain some of the confusion about where she's playing.

Isn't she British? If so, I am sure she bashed Bush. My whole family live over there and they all think he is an absolute moron. I don't like her music and don't really care if she plays Roo, but more power to her

I'm absolutely stunned that people would STILL boo someone because they talk bad about Bush...
But I do hope Lilly makes it to Roo... she'd make a good afternoon show. I don't typically dig that kind of music, but I like her style... she's got spunk.
From her myspace page, Tour IS cancelled, Bonnaroo STILL ON!!!

Cancelled Tour Current mood: artistic
Hey Guys , I'm writing to tell you that I have cancelled many of my May and June tour commitments in America . The reason for this , is because my mummy and daddy are very rich , and I have never been in a position where i have actually had to do any hard work before . I thought that being a popstar meant going out getting trashed with famous people and sleeping in all day . The fact that this is not true has come as a huge dissapiontment to me , and as a result I am throwing the towel in .
No but seriously , I have been on tour with this album for a year now , I have fulfilled every commitment up to this point . I am tired , but more than that I don't think I have been giving my best performances recently . I have been getting really drunk because i've been so nervous about doing bad shows , and I don't want people spending money on a going to see a show that isnt the best it could be . I am not falling apart at the seems , I am not suffering with exhaustion , I am not pregnant , and I am not going to rehab . I will be here in America , promoting the album and also starting to write the second album , which I am beyond excited about . The LA and New York shows will still be happening , and I am still playing Coachella and Bonaroo and all the other festivals .
I'd like to apologise to anyone who has bought tickets , but you can get your money back , if you take 'em back to the place you bought them from .
