Someone on here said something about DJ Shadow maybe having a special guest in the form of Thom Yorke.....have Thom and DJ Shadow collaborated together on stage or something? Because if they haven't, I don't see why he would even be a consideration.
DJ Shadow and Thom Yorke did a track together for U.N.K.L.E.
As for the Pete Yorn addition, this round reminds me of the Roots addition. It wasn't even announced as a surprise or a round. Just an artist addition.
I expect more to come next week. Maybe a hip-hop/world themed addition like they had last year. And one or two more after that. Gift of Gab definitely has his own set though. His site lists him as having three sets during Roo, two collaborative and one his own.

im just so excited for FLips late night that I dont even care about the additions!! ;D
Me too ;D ;D Flaming Lips late-night is something I was praying would happen. But I do have to say this has been the weakest additions ever for Bonnaroo minus Ornette Coleman, I'm not complaining because there are already too many bands I want to see and I'm happy for those of you who are excited for the additions. I'm almost 100% positive now though that the original leaked line-up had some bands on it that were going to be additions. The Flaming Lips confirmed as a late-night is as good as a huge addition to me anyway. But now they conflict with Mule Awwwww decisions decisions.............man I need a clone.................
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
man, I am disappointed about this add, considering we knew about it...
The fact that we knew about it is really not relevant. Should Bonnaroo cancel Pete Yorn because the information leaked? Should they book some other act to make up for the loss of surprise?
I don't know much about him either (He did a nice cover of Buzzcocks Ever Fallen in Love? on some soundtrack that my kids have - Shrek 2 maybe?) but Roo can't change their booking plans based on the leakiness of information.
Not relevant to what, being dissapointed in the add? Because I'm pretty sure thats entirely relevant...

What I meant was that Pete Yorn is Pete Yorn, whether or not we knew about his additon in advance.
I was glad to see that Pete Yorn did a re-do of Undercover on his latest....that's my fave of his so far. I will probably check him out if he doesn't conflict with any of my "must sees". He is a good song writer, not terribly impressed with him as a singer/performer but I have never seen him live so I can't really say.

As was mentioned, they worked together on the album U.N.K.L.E.
The name of the track is "Rabbit in Your Headlights". It is really a great tune.
This would be the ultimate add (special guest Thom Yorke) and would complete the line-up for me. Where did you hear this?
It wouldn't shock me. I've seen in several articles where Thom has said that the Bonnaroo show is his favorite festival that he has ever done. It sort of makes sense since him and Shadow have a history.
more additions? sure theres a few more bands i would like to see, but this lineup is more than u could ask for i mean come on, only so many bands cans make it and i'm not expecting ne thing less than spectacular this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i got five bucks on --- we only get one more artist addition, and it will include hip hop! The next few weeks, they reveal more acivities....contest winners, the schedule...
(but perhaps i'm wrong) I'd love more additions...I oculdn't possibly see more, but could thin the crowds....and more additions would only make me believe Thursday has a lot more music on its agenda!!!!!!
Pretty excited about the flips as well. I wore a bunny suit last time (2003) any ideas for this year??

I know, but just cause we knew about Pete Yorn in advance doesnt mean we can't be dissappointed that superfly didn't drop something we did NOT know about. Of course they can't be expected to pull something out of thin air just because what they had leaked, but one would hope they would have SOMETHING up their sleeves that we don't know about... looks like they've just done a terrible job keeping things under wraps this year...
aquarium drunk, I'm as dissapointed as you are, but thats really no reason to be a prick

You know, I'm glad we got an addition, but I don't like the way they did it. I didn't check the website, but I got an email and it was all about "Bonnaroo Greening" and down at the bottom it was like...oh, by the way, Pete Yorn got added. Kind of an anti-climax.

Shouldn't we be getting more comedians?
I'm fine with Lewis Black and Dave Attel. Lewis Black is my favorite comedian, and after hearing his stuff, no one else really comes close. Dave Attel is good to, I always enjoyed watching Insomniac.

In the same note^ I'm really glad with what Bonnaroo's done with this year's line-up, pretty diverse, though a little indie heavy, nice collection of artists though.

Im with you on this one!!
They're playing every other f-ing jam fest in the country. You shouldn't have any troble seeing them.
I'm sorry that you dont appreciate a group of truely talented artists, and that i have a job and cant go to every festival in the world. Bonnaroo was the strictest this year about no repeats, and the best shows are usually repeats. I love the line up, but like mothersky said, a little indie heavy, and i dont care what you say, they dont put on as good of shows as umphreys and mmw.

It's all a matter of taste. I was not implying that any genre is more or less talented than any other. That is a pointless circular argument. I WAS pointing out that it's not as if MMW or Umphree's are nowhere to be found. There are dozens of fests that are packed to the gills w/ jambands. If that's your bag, go there. If you like great music from a huge list of quality acts representing the best of many kinds of music, go to Bonnaroo. I'm not biting off anyone's head.
