just saw The Stooges. Wow, what a horrible new album. "She Took My Money"? That was such a cheesy, cliche, horrible song, and Iggy's voice is shot to hell (even if it was always not technically good). Sigh.
The nightwatchman was awesome tonight, something i totally did not expect from tom morello, but it just proves how great of a musician he is.
Absolutely. I saw the performance as well. He is an unbelievable muscian, who knew he could be such a great guitarist as well as a great sing-songwriter.

i mean, his voice is definitely something to warm up to, it seems like this is the newest facet of his repertoire (singing). But as I read somewhere else on the board, he's like an angry Johnny Cash.

I don't know, I kinda thought the nightwatchmen performance was meh. Maybe it's just b/c I'm not really into overly political music, but I wasn't feeling the guitar playing or the song in general. Is the album any better?

I dug The Nightwatchman's performance, but I didn't "get" the part where he would stop and whisper something into the mic. Was it suppose to be unheard? Did anyone catch what he was saying?
He reminds me ALOT of Bob Dylan, not the greatest voice, but great lyrics, and of course their protest songs.
I will probably check out his set, cause I hear he may have some special guests.

I just saw Bela Fleck and Steve Martin have an amazing performance on Dave Letterman, not sure if it was a rerun, I caught it toward the end. If you are earlier than the eastern time zone, I highly recommend it.

I saw it to, I thought is was really cool. I generally don't like music like that, but I was blown away.
I should be able to catch the Kings of Leon performance tonight on Leno.

One roo act, Bob Weir and Ratdog, are playing on Conan this week, on Thursday. Arctic Monkeys are on Monday and Tom Waits plays Friday. Also Chris Isaac on Tuesday, "to be announced" listed for thursday. Conan is in San Francisco all week.

he rarely plays live, and from what i've seen he isn't a good live act. musically that is. his banter is hilarious though, and he is pretty much the coolest person on earth, and i'd love to see him just for that.
Waits was just perfect on Conan. His performance was exciting and theatrical.
I loved the interview as well. Conan clearly didn't get him, the audience barely got him, and I sure as hell won't pretend I got him the whole time-- but who wasn't loving every second of it all the same?
