as far as suckiness goes this year, for me it'd probably be damien rice. but hey, i bet he's good at other things in life like maybe, checkers?
Dude...what? When'd you see Damien this year? If it was Coachella, then blame coachella, they were having sound problems at all thier stages. And for your information, Damien is good at performing, that's what he does....I feel extremely sorry for you that you don't like him, because he's a very talented, passionate musician.
I'm seeing him in a week at the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City, I'm sooo stoked.
Last year Matisyahu was a real let down. He was one of the main reasons I went, and his show was so bland. Luckily, every other band I saw was amazing. Most bands give their all into 'roo.
I doubt there's very much sucky at Bonnaroo, but if I've gottta guess, I'd say a good example of sucking at Bonnaroo is Jason Mraz. But then again he always sucks, so maybe he magically didn't suck, just because of where he was.
Honestly, last year I thought My Morning Jacket kinda sucked.
...Hahaha not really! It was hands down the greatest, most epic concert that I've ever experienced. I think I felt God pulsating through my brain in the form of sound. It really was that good.
I thought clap your hands say yeah was a little off last year. Sound problems lack of passion and scorching heat. I do love them though. Beck was frickin awesome
Mars Volta in 2005, I walked away from. Funny thing is, I love music that sounds like pops and noises and is all atmospheric....but it felt like I was literally listening to a band on stage make just pops and noises and not music.

Oh don't worry poop! You're the first person I'll tell!
This year will be my first roo, and I am excited beyond all comprehension. The more I read on here, the more pumped I get. I have noticed that everything always sounds quite amazing. In previous years has there been any artist that just absolutely sucked or was a complete dissapointment? just wondering...

I had planned on catching a bit of Deathcab for Cutie last year too, but I was laying under the trees off to the side of the What Stage listening to Radiohead, and from there you can hear the stage DCfC was on, and it sounded like a recording. So I didn't bother.
Um.
Radiohead headlined Saturday night. They weren't playing at the same time as DCFC. Were you listening to Radiohead on your iPod, or did you mean Oysterhead?
Regardless, Oysterhead was better. I went with a couple people who went to DCFC instead and said it was good, but nothing special. You didn't miss much.
If Gabby La La or Devotchka get added to Bonnaroo... STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!! the worst two shows seen at Roo in five year history hands down.
I have to agree with most about the Beck show too. I thought it was one of the most boring shows I have seen by any artist, and I like Beck's sound normally.
Other than that, It hard to find something that just down right sucks at Bonnaroo cause every band is trying to rip it up for one of the Country's premier festival's of any genre.
You will dig 95 % of what you see because you can leave if your not diggin something, walk 100 yards, and be any of the other 5 shows that are jammin out. There is never a moment where every band is sucking at the same time on their respective stages. The Key is to keep searching for the sound that gives you the boogie down fever and dig on it, No regrets!
Your going to have an insane first time guaranteed, Enjoy!
I found Rusted Root to be terrible last year. I've seen them in the past and they were great but Roo was not good for them. The Trey set in 05 wasn't great but was really fun! He covered the Sun King suite, brought out Matishyahu, and the glow stick war was awesome!!
wow, and i thought root (in the tent) was good!
personally, beck was my low-point for last year... i was also not amazed by moe or oysterhead (but, im not familiar with them nor did i see the entire set).
