allright...this is not intended to be about the lineup...so none of that!
if you could change some things to make roo more enjoyable what would you change?
1. on thursday night they should move the comedy tent to the second stage, or atleast to an actual tent stage
2. i would have the big screens and the soundsystem at the mainstage showing a show thats going on at a different stage between acts
3. get rid of that beer shack in the middle of the second stage area
4.fire that yuppie security prick who took my bowl and stash and put it in his pocket last year
5.let you take food and drink into centeroo
6. i wish there was a way that they could enclose all of roo so you would only have to go through the 1 checkpoint with your car. and then they could spread the stages out across the property so they can crank up the volume more.(that would make for more walking though)

I'd say more music on Thursday, late night shows on the Which Stage on Friday & Saturday, and no security walking into Centeroo (though it's about as lax as it can be).
better food options available for purchase! the food is typically awful and makes you shit your brains out. not a good thing at all considering the toilet situation there.
which brings me to my other gripe - we need more portos. plain and simple. the crews can only clean them so fast so we just need more of them. i cant tell you how nasty and unsanitary those things can get. and put more than 2 freekin rolls of toilet paper. i know about bringing my own, but its not like everyone can carry a roll of toilet paper with them all day. and its not like i have an appointment to take a s h i t. it just kinda happens, ya know?
2. Get rid of that water (specifically one station) that smells like eggs in Centeroo. No one gets it anyways.
3. In between sets, whether it being in a tent or on a stage, change up the music that is played. Instead of just replaying the heck out of the CD that is handed out at the gate, how about playing someone else's set? (I remember hearing DeVotchka's "We're Leaving" umpteen million times last year)
4. I second that idea of moving the comedy acts to a tent/stage on Thursday. I would actually like to see an act without having to wait over an hour to get in.

kemosabe, I've never had problems w/ the port-o-lets. I've always found plenty, they are generally pretty clean (given the fact that there are 80k people), and there is generally some paper in there. But if you're not bringing your own paper with you to the port-o-let, you're an idiot.

Yeah I was amazed last year how well the port-os were kept up. Only once did I find a nasty one and that was first night right at the entrance to centeroo so everyone had been in it before going in. Then there was an army of clean unused portos right inside centeroo!
i must also say that i find the food at roo to be some of the best food anywhere and i have never had any illness form it and i dont bring food i just eat there.....this is the first ive heard of it so im sure it can happen but it dosent happen often....i have also found the porta pottys to be cleaner then expected...only on sunday of 04 did i see some nastyass ones...t.p. dosent take up much space and weighs next to nothing....put one in a ziploc and throw it in your backpack...or atleast take one amongst your gorup...but i recommend your own...i bring lysol wipes to clean any nasty off the seats and to clean my hands after getting out of there
and as silly as it seems i condition myself to poop in the mornings before i go to roo...they get cleaned over night so they are nice and clean... and once it gets hot they turn into a hot steamy shit smelling sauna
last year wasnt too bad on the porto situation. i do have to agree with you there.
but take my situation into account. here goes. you leave your camp for Centeroo. you catch a few shows and grab a sandwich from a vendor. in the middle of MMJs notorious set (04) that sausage sandwich decides its gonna liquify in your intestines and knock on your rectum door.
you answer Mother Natures call by stepping inside one of the Centeroo portos (the nastiest ones at roo) and you do what needs to be done.
this isnt a situation where you would have toilet paper just chillin in your back pocket. and there was no time to go back to camp and get some. hence, the portos should have you covered.
thats why i said "its not like i have an appointment to take a s h i t." if i had gone from my campsite to the portos and didnt bring toilet paper then yes, i would be an idiot. but im sure im not the only one who takes unexpected s h i t s.
but hey im not whining about it. to be honest, i dont really have ANY major gripes about the roo. i love it. and i love everything about it too. i was just trying to contribute to the topic more than anything.
no worries man... i got what you were saying... i didnt take it as whining at all...me personally i dont go anywhere at roo(or in the real world) without my backpack so i have a spot for it....and i feel for ya with that age old problem of that sausage and the rectum.... ive never had it happen at roo and cant really imagne a worse place to get it....
kwala415 they will let you take in water but only if it is a factory sealed clear bottle.... heres a good tip...i have found that if you fill one all the way up with a clear liquor you can put the cap on to look like it is sealed and just throw it in your backpack with a couple of actually sealed waterbottles on top of it and get it in without much problem...and if ya bring a couple of packs of lemonade or koolaid mix then you can mix it with your actual water and use that to mix with the alcohol
i would also change it so you could bring in factory sealed juice or gatorade and not just water

Better port a potties than alot of festivals less than half its size if you ask me, especially last year...
This may or may not be realistic but some kind of shuttle to and from centeroo for the far off campsites would be amazing. Wakarusa although its alot smaller, has the no waka shuttle running back and forth all day and night, you can just flag em down and hop in till its full... Again im not sure how realistic or even possible this would be for Bonnaroo, i remember the security and staff having a hell of a time driving on any of the roads. Try to be nice to these peeps and walk to the side of the roads like they tell you to, or at least stand aside and let them pass, so many people were rude and kept walking in crowds right in front of them a few drivers got pissed...
ya that would be nice... but i dont see how they can do it....
we were walkin by the church last year real late and these 2 dudes on on of the golf cart things pulled up and said that they were sorry but they werent allowed to give rides and then took one last hit off of a big j and handed it to me and drove off....we hadnt even asked for a ride.. he just apologized for not being able to and gave us a j.. it was sweet
man i cant wait to get some chicken on a stick and one of those tacos the size of my head
1 thing i didnt like was that the dollar grilled cheeses cost an extra dollar if you got more then one...so if you wante 2 it would be 3 bucks or 5 would be 6 bucks unless you waited in line again... that was kinda not cool
I would also add more unscheduled shows. Maybe not unscheduled artist, but another suprise late late set or two would be awesome, or a couple of hey Trey just started Jamming on the second stage kinda things would be cool.

every year theres always a large percentage of newbies,, and last year in my mindset i was totally lost half of the time or following my cousin, i think there should be at every inbtersection or so a map with a "you are here" dealy on it

oh and i forgot, on the footpath that was bridgelike over to camp M and Q and such i think that should be wider and not made to be super slippery when it get muddish

I got a few suggestions.....
Comedy perhaps in between sets....sort of like the dj' thing they did at the first roo.. Or the idea of showing other sets, or just streaming audio would be killer! Comedy in the tents period would be cool!
I sixth the no beer tent at the second stage...Although I sat on that camera platform and watched a smokin Los Lonely boys set in 04.
Spread out the sonic forest, dj station, and all the internet etc... booths.
Definitly play late night sets on second stage, Friday on Saturday (although i think they will this year)
Perhaps give you the option not to get stuck next to a light source out in the field in general camping!!!!
Shuttles, or Trolly rides from outskirts general camping, to centeroo gates! (I'm dreaming)
More Hay, when it gets muddy. Used that the last few years, and it seems to work better!
And someone mentioned them on here a long time ago, Cool-Artsy -Fartsy Sun shields. Big kite like objects that give off huge shade spots for all those seeking shade! They can be built high enough not to effect anyones view!
All I can think of at the moment! Also, I think the food is top notch, and bring dry goods, but plan all my meals in or outside centeroo. And, port-a-potties well-are considerably clean for the amount of people. I was always surprised! (you don't have to go in the gross ones)

I really liked the addition of the reiginal night club cafe tents last year. was amzing to stumble into a beer tent to see Toubab Krewe. I think that after the late night shows they should have some of these reigional bands start sets really late, like 4 am. Could you imagine all the people that still want to see some music at that hour that would be seeing some of the great up and coming bands?
has anyone mentioned showers? those are key. solar showers work well for the campsite.
get rid of that beer shack FOR SURE! im not a fan of it at all. and im a big drinker! all that thing did was get in the way.
im surprised to hear that you guys think the food is top notch. what do you normaly eat? all i saw was butterfly fries (which smelled awesome but in essence was just hot potato chips - hardly a meal), nasty crepas, insta-s h i t sausage sammiches, and aligator meat rollups. oh yeah, and the worst pizza and corndogs known to mankind.
again, im not whining, i can just bring my own food. and the dollar grilled cheeses are always hittin. ;-)
the hay idea is GREAT! bring on the hay. that helped so much with the wetness.
i dont think that anyone would stick around for comedy between sets. good idea, but music is all they really need. some good music, maybe even deejays.
spreading out is also a good idea. they should give the center area more room. it got hella crowded and muddy for no good reason.
dude ive never even seen the stuff you mentioned, gator rollups??in that heat? those butterfly fries are good stuff. i highly recommend the chicken on a stick...or the chicken teriyaki, you get more chicken plus rice and vegies. its killer. they have had a stand right outside of the roo rainbow entrance to centeroo. also the row at the back of the mainstage area, facing the main stage there is a good bbq beef stand and the giant tacos , both are down towards the end of the vendors. these locations were good for 04 and 05 so im hoping they will be there again so i dont have to hunt, also i grabbed alot of dollar hotdogs and hamburgers off of grillers in the camping area.

That is a very good idea...it could help cut down on the dehydration factor, and would be cool to see while inebriated!
I usually stick to the gyros myself. Pricey but good and filling. Worth it when your starving and you don't feel like going out of your way to find a camper selling food.
