2004- First time I had ever seen Umphreys. I had heard good buzz, so I decided to check their late night set out. 4 hours later, I had just found one of my new favorite bands.
2006- I had never really give Disco Biscuits a, but after the first chorus of Astronaut, I realized I had been missing out for a long time. When Save the Robots ended, my friend and I walked out of that tent, exhausted as balls giddy over the thought that we could see The Biscuits some time in the near future.
I had never even heard of them, and well, they were incredible!! I really hadn't wanted to go to that set, either, because there was someone else playing that I wanted to see.
There's already a thread about "Which show was disappointing?"
Here's the opposite.
I expected to enjoy Trey in 02 but that show was EPIC....
And I had no idea what to expect from the Camper VB/Cracker show in 04 but it turned out to be one of my favorite sets that weekend.
Sometimes there are artists I THINK I don't like and then they really impress. That's why I'm going to, at least some of, the Flaming Lips this year.
last year for me it was Seu Jorge. i was pimped about his set already because of the little i had heard off of the Life Aquatic soudntrack but he completely blew me away with his set. my favorite song from his set was Tive Razao. anybody else catch his set last year?
^i was there too and it was indeed a great show. i expected it to be a lot more relaxed and laid back but it was a very high energy show.

2006: Claypool/World Party Radiohead Superjam late night into Sasha late late night, rivals to be my favorite night in Bonnaroo history for me. 7 hours of danky janky Mc Stanky music that I will never forget. ( On the rail for Superjam and 3 rows o' people back for Sasha rippin it up.) ( My face is still melting from that night) .
Radiohead/Superjam/Dresden Dolls/Sasha was mind-blowing - not just my favorite night at Bonnaroo, my favorite night EVER.
