New York, NY -- On the heels of the recent Jurassic 5 split, Chali 2na has announced his entrance into the studio to record his debut solo album.
Titled Fish Outta Water, Chali 2na will once again showcase the colossal baritone, dexterous flow and varied wordplay that made him revered for in hip-hop circles and such a stand out MC in Jurassic 5.
Chali 2na, most recognized from his involvement in the Los Angeles-based hip-hop crew Jurassic 5, who recently split, continuously stood apart in the group's roster due to his unmistakable vocal presence and lyrical capabilities.
Now with the recent separation of the group, he is prepared to offer the hip-hop community his own personal contribution in the form of a solo album, further illustrating his artistic talent.
Chali 2na
Hearkening back to a time when vocal groups such as the Crash Crew, the Cold Crush Brothers and Funky Four +1 were focusing on the more enjoyable side of hip-hop, Jurassic 5's music was a throwback to this type of sound but with its added signature flair.
With the presence of competent emcees able to harmonize entire verses over party-ready rhythms with the greatest of ease, Jurassic 5 was quickly popularized for its entertaining brand of music and live shows.
Along with his new recording schedule, Chali 2na will be making an appearance at this year's Bonnaroo festival where he will be featured as a special guest during Galactic's set.
Additionally, he will appear as a special guest on Galactic's new album which is slated for release later in the year.

Man why can't some of these Saturday night bands be on Friday night. If Galactic falls into there rumored late night spot on Saturday night you now have:
Gov't Mule The Flaming Lips Sasha & Digweed Galactic
Friday in comparision (IMO) is very, very weak so far, and other than Sasha & Digweed, I would take any of these bands over the Friday late nights so far. Now if they annonce the Mars Volta all is well

Galactic! All the way!
Flaming Lips are a must for me, and then...
It really sucks but I will most liekly be missing Galactic to see Mule. Friday night better get something big soon, or this is one lopsided late night schedule for the 'Roo.
I'm assuming the whole "Galactic late night" thing is still just a rumor.
I'd just assumed they'd be playing a 5ish PM set that day. They've been in that slot a few times before. Plus, Galactic was already high on my must-see list. It would seriously bum me out if they're on at the same time as Mule and the FLips. That would shape up to be THE confict time of the weekend.
That said, I still think there's a very good chace that Galactic will NOT be late night. Right now I hope that's the case.

I hope you are right. I love Ben Harper, but this would trump him for me.

i dont know how anyone can say friday late night is week, ... STS9....
Friday late night:
STS9 M&M ? ?
Saturday late night:
Gov't Mule Flaming Lips Sasha & Digweed
That's how^^^^^
So far Friday is all jamband, and jamband approved bands. Saturday has variety. So yes, weak. I like STS9, but I do not need to see 4+ hours of their show. I think the Roots will be late night, so that is satisfactory, but it is still weak compared to Saturday night, especially if Galactic is late night as well.
IF the Roots are late night I will see them, then head over to STS9 who will no doubt still be playing.
