So did anyone happen to catch the Damien Rice show in NYC tonight? Holy crap, he is such an amazing performer. I don't even know how to stress it the show was absolutely incredible and I highly recommend everyone make time to go see him at the roo! I know I'll be there...

Does Lisa not tour with him? I've been watching videos on youtube and I am VERY excited for his set.
I just saw Damien in Kansas City last Sunday, it was an outrageously entertaining performance. Damien puts so much into his music. He also does a great job at holding his own without Lisa, it gives him more opportunity to dabble and try different things with his songs. There's a few where Lisa's voice will be missed, but Damien does such a good job, you'll hardly be able to notice.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

I'm not gonna lie, Lisa's absence is making me wonder if I really want to see Damien Rice... her input is essential on the majority of my favorite songs, I just can't imagine it without her. Really it all just comes down to who else is playing during Damien Rice though.
yeah, Lisa is back in Ireland working on her solo project, he said she will be back just not sure when. He was amazing even without her though. I'm excited for his set at Roo

when did he say that??? this is all i know
"After much thought and discussion Damien has decided that his professional relationship with Lisa Hannigan has run its creative course. As a result Lisa will not be appearing at any of the upcoming live shows. Lisa is embarking on her own artistic endeavours and there are no plans for them to work together in the foreseeable future. The current band on tour at the moment are - Damien Rice, Joel Shearer, Shane Fitzsimons, Tom Osander & Vyvienne Long. "
and she's recently been with snow patrol...it doesnt look like she'll ever be back

You needn't worry my friend. Just because you feel that Lisa's voice is an integral part of these song doesn't compromise it's sweet sound and beauty.
Damien wrote these songs and made them sound the way they do, and he had no problem revising them to make it seem like Lisa was never even around.
Don't get me wrong, she did add to the songs, but Damien does such a good job, you hardly notice. Trust me, don't miss Damien!

you're a pretty good convincer... I guess we'll just have to wait and see about any schedule conflicts. But you're right, Damien does practically create all the songs
Lisa will be sorely missed. Songs like 9 Crimes give me goosebumps when their voices come together. I will definitely not miss Damien, but I was very shocked when I found out Lisa was gone. Much jealousness to those who saw them when they performed together!
^^hm not sure what that was (my post), i wrote that after an 8 hour, chemically assisted study session. guess i needed to relax by singing delicate on inforoo.
Sadly, I've not yet seen Damien live. However, after listening to his B-sides album (most of which is solo, I believe) I am confident he can hold his own without Lisa.

So I don't know if this was covered elswhere in a different thread or anything, but Damien Rice is on Austin City Limits this week (At least on Indianapolis PBS) Doubt it's current.
Was perfect timing though, had never heard him before, great sound, i'll definately have to check him out at roo
I watched him broadcast live on AT&T Blueroom this year at Coachella. He sang her parts on Volcano and a few others. But I did notice they had what sounded like her doing back-up fill ins, and she definatly wasn't on stage. So who knows.

the drummer sang some of lisa's parts. and damien tried to sing some of them and his at the same time. no really, he did.
