i will def be at the which stage to see the lips play (I probably will head over there before the police end) however i am huge fan of girl talk. Hard decision but it has to be made.
My true beef is with sasha and digweed. If i remember correctly sasha started at like 3am last year. Why so early this year? I'll have to miss some of S&D wile waiting for this lips to wrap up their show. I don't know what to do.
I'm going to see Girl Talk for about a bit and then hang out with The FLips for the rest of the night. I don't know anything about S&D, so maybe I should check them out. Where should I start?
Sasha and Digweed are pioneers of dance music. They toured around the US on a tour bus and conquered the scene in the mid 90's (it was called Delta Heavy tour if im not mistaken) I've seen sasha before and hes not a typical dj. He uses this complex specialized machine which was built specifically for him called the Maven machine.
its meant to control ableton live software. In any event sasha and digweed aren't your typical top 40 djs they really do a great job taking you on a complicated and beutiful sonic journey that builds and builds though out the night.
A good place to start listening is an album they released together called Northern Exposure) you can also download some sets to get a better idea what to expect live
just browse around these forums for some sasha digweed (remember this kinda music is meant for long term listening to really get an idea what a dj can do listen to a ful live set)

Sasha & Digweed may start earlier this year, but I'm willing to bet they play just as late. It's gonna be a long and intense night. Flaming Lips and Sasha?? I haven't had this much action in one night since... well... never. Hooray Bonnaroo!

I've def start at the lips, maybe even leave the police early to get a good spot. I will probably leave early (since I've seen em2x already) to get in the jazz tent for the Philly Experiment though. Thta will be a once-in-a-lifetime show!

Do you think philly experiment will play longer than there alotted time? They are closing out the Jazz tent that night and they hardly ever play gigs. If they go longer that could work out well. I also hope they can have the option of opening up the Jazz tent late night so more people can fit to watch this show.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
Not a big fan of the Lips, but they did rock it at AllGood in 2005. However, I cannot miss Mule late night. The guests that are going to show up will be insane!
I've been dissapointed both times I've seen FL. Most of the emphasis is on stage theatrics and not the music. Plus Wayne talks to much. Its almost like a visual show with music in the back ground. Plus their set list doesn't vary to much. That being said, I don't think one needs the whole show to catch the experience. I hear great things about Girl Talk Live and the only reason I would be really interested in seeing Galactic again is all those hip hop guest spots. S&D I've seen a lot, but if my heads in the right place you better believe I'll put them as a late night priority.
